228. Another long range artillery strike occurred deep in the rear of the front between Chuhuiv and Balakliya near Nova Hnylytsya (geolocation in link).
I can't decide if two or three 2S3 Akatsiya 152mm self-propelled howitzers are hit in the end.
-----------
@UAWeapons:
#Ukraine: Near Izyum, 2x Russian 152mm 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers were struck by Ukrainian counter-battery fire, destroying them both when the ammo on board detonated.
As claimed, Western supplied "high precision" artillery was used, and as can be seen, was effective. https://t.co/qDcyQyTCoK

229. So a long range artillery war has developed in parts of the Kharkiv - Izyum front. RuAF also has the 2S7 Malka 203mm guns there. On 03 May UAF reported that a 2S4 Tyulpan 240-mm mortar battery and a Tornado MLRS unit also arrived to the Izyum area.

RT @RolandOliphant: Zelensky stakes Ukraine’s own claim to Soviet victory day, with a characteristically powerful and well delivered speech. Reclaiming May 9 instead of viewing it as irrevocably contaminated. Quite bold https://twitter.com/MFA_Ukraine/status/1523551026317570048/video/1

The US House of Representatives will vote on an additional Aid Package for Ukraine tomorrow. Initially thought to be $33 Billion but now the amount is raised to $40 Billion.

@GeoDrill @TheWarFlags And then he showed a video of a Russian Mi-8 Helicopter getting hit by a Bayraktar TB2 then claimed the helicopter is Ukrainian when it is actually Russian.

@kcchapman32 @GeoDrill It’s a map run by NASA that shows where the Fires are happening. It’s very informative because you can see where Russian and Ukrainian artillery are firing. I use it as one of my sources and I bought a very expensive detailed fire map that I am still trying to learn how to use.🇺🇦

@GeoDrill I need to make the calls again to get more information on that area. The post I made today I actually should’ve released yesterday because that’s when no one released the news yet. I wait because I don’t want to release new intelligence info immediately when a place is liberated.

Agree with Justin's critiques and that Buk-M1 has probably been the most important AD system. I also think this mistakes Russia's view of airpower. As part of GPV-2020, the Navy and VVS were the priority while the Ground Forces received the least funding (21% to 13% of the total)
-----------
@Justin_Br0nk:
Some good stuff here, but a few notable errors:
Ukraine had several brigades of S-300PS/PT and S-300V1 when the invasion began, plus SA-11s (which got most Russian jet losses), some SA-15 and plenty of SA-8s. They didn't start with MANPADS and then get S-300 from Slovakia (1/3) https://t.co/1Y4L59NVFs

I don't think we have conclusive evidence that Russian aircraft are operating by themselves. Most videos show them operating in pairs, and a 5-second video showing one Su-25 flying at low altitude doesn't mean there isn't a 2nd aircraft (or maybe only the 2nd was videotaped).

I'm going to keep harping on this. We have imperfect data from this conflict and there are often multiple explanations why we might see something in a video (e.g. only one aircraft). It is important to not aver that one of those explanations is right without more information.

@FiredStaffer What data? Ukraine had S-300 before the war began, and this article suggests that wasn't the case. The number of combat aviation is massively inflated as well.
