FACTSHEET - Srdjan Zunic ARRESTED IN Serbia

Srdjan Zunic, a Serbian activist and member of the NGO Ujedinjeni Narod Srbije (United People of Serbia), which fights against corruption and dictatorship, was arrested in Belgrade. Zunic has been making headlines in Serbia for months as an enemy of the media controlled by Aleksandar Vučić. Through his Facebook posts, he has exposed corruption within Serbian politics. As an activist, he has inside knowledge of the corruption and vote manipulation that occur during elections in Serbia.

At the request of the Serbian government, Srdjan Zunic was arrested on March 12, 2025, because of his efforts to combat corruption in the Serbian government and politics. With this action, Aleksandar Vučić hopes that Zunic will be silenced through false accusations. However, Zunic’s only goal is to ensure that the people of Serbia are heard. Anyone who opposes the corruption in Serbia or its isolation in Europe is being silenced by this corrupt government. The media is controlled, and independent media that remains faces the threat of imprisonment as long as Vučić holds power as a dictator.

Zunic continues to expose how Vučić buys votes and manipulates elections. In Serbia, he faces no honest or fair trial.
