Устойчивое развитие vs. Сдерживающее развитие

"Что такое устойчивое развитие? Устойчивое развитие – это развитие, которое удовлетворяет потребности настоящего, не ставя под угрозу способность будущих поколений удовлетворять свои собственные потребности.

Устойчивое развитие определяется по-разному, но наиболее часто цитируемое определение взято из «Нашего общего будущего», также известного как «Доклад Брундтланд»:

«Устойчивое развитие — это развитие, которое удовлетворяет потребности настоящего, не ставя под угрозу способность будущих поколений удовлетворять свои собственные потребности».

Устойчивое развитие является основой современной ведущей глобальной системы международного сотрудничества — Повестки дня в области устойчивого развития на период до 2030 года и ее целей в области устойчивого развития (ЦУР). А теперь посмотрим этимологию слова "sustainable", а именно на английском языке впервые прозвучало это словосочетание и была придумана программа.
Одним из основных смыслов латинского термина "sustinere" является "сдерживание".

Таким образом, правильно будет переводить не "устойчивое", а "сдерживающее" развитие.
Отсюда сверчки вместо мяса, "я ничем не владею, но счастлива", 15-минутные города, и тп.

Так что ни о каком устойчивое развитии и вообще о развитии речи нет. Речь о сдерживании любого развития, во всех смыслах.
