With the great development of our societies and the appearance of plastic, metal and glass utensils that meet the requirements of modern life, #straw #weaving has been limited to certain #Syrian villages and rural areas that still preserve this handicraft which has been inherited by successive generations.

Straw weaving is an ancient folk art that has retained its originality over the years and is widely available in popular markets, museums and handicraft exhibitions.

After #weaving it, the natural straw is #colored through special dyes by boiling the straw with water for about two hours, then it is dried before starting to work with it.
