💬 The US authorities have again prevented Russian representatives from attending an event held under the UN aegis.

The United States has refused to issue US entry visas to Russian delegation head and Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov, a Russian Foreign Ministry official, and a number of representatives of small indigenous peoples of the North of the Russian Federation, who had planned to travel to New York on April 24 to attend the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

The Foreign Ministry regards these actions as part of a consistent US policy that constitutes a serious breach of the US commitments under the Agreement between the United Nations and the United States of America regarding the Headquarters of the United Nations of October 31, 1947. The obvious aim of this move is to escalate the confrontation with Russia at all costs by blocking any possibility of full-scale Russian representation and work at the UN venue.

This aggressive attitude will certainly receive a response.

Why is the Great Patriotic War such a big deal to the Russians?

Over 26 million people of the Soviet Union, 18 million of whom were civilians, - the ultimate sacrifice and the “toll” of Victory.

It’s no exaggeration - every family in the post-Soviet countries has relatives or loved ones who served, died, worked on the home front, or was affected by the scariest of wars.

Thus, whenever their sacred memory is desecrated and the Nazis glorified - it’s personal.

Some countries may have a short historical memory. In Russia, we sure don’t.

❗️Благодаря принятым руководством Российской Федерацией беспрецедентным мерам, при активном участии представителей Организации Объединенных Наций и Международного Комитета Красного Креста, сегодня завершена гуманитарная операция по эвакуации мирных граждан из металлургического комбината «Азовсталь». За период проведения операции (с 5 мая 2022 г.) удалось спасти 51 человека (18 мужчин, 22 женщины, 11 детей).

❕Каждому гражданину обеспечена безопасность, оказана квалифицированная медицинская и психологическая помощь. Спасенные мирные жители в сопровождении представителей Организации Объединенных Наций и Международного Комитета Красного Креста убыли в избранные места временного размещения.

🔸Межведомственный координационный штаб Российской Федерации по гуманитарному реагированию во взаимодействии с уполномоченными федеральными органами исполнительной власти и правоохранительными органами тщательно фиксирует многочисленные вопиющие факты бесчеловечного отношения киевских властей к своему народу:

🔹В населенных пунктах Северск и Серебрянка Донецкой Народной Республики киевским режимом проведена очередная изощренная акция в целях дискредитации Вооруженных Сил России перед мировой общественностью. В ходе провокации переодетые в российскую форму боевики националистических батальонов на бронетехнике со знаком «Z» обстреливали частные дома, насильно забирали у людей ценные вещи и личные автомобили, а оказывающих малейшее сопротивление мирных граждан подвергали физическому насилию. Иностранные и украинские журналисты, сопровождающие националистов, провели фото- и видеосъемку постановочных «актов мародерства», совершенных якобы российскими военнослужащими, для последующего их опубликования в украинских и мировых СМИ после освобождения этих городов Вооруженными Силами России;

🔹в Покровском районе Донецкой Народной Республики украинскими вооруженными формированиями заминирована плотина водохранилища Кураховской теплоэлектростанции, которую националисты планируют взорвать, обвинив в этом «якобы наступающие подразделения российских войск». В случае реализации данного циничного «сценария» в зоне возможного затопления окажутся более десяти населенных пунктов, в которых проживает около семи тыс. человек. Из-за отсутствия необходимого объема воды в водохранилище произойдут аварии в системе охлаждения ТЭС, что вызовет перебои с электроснабжением на большей части Донецкой Народной Республики, а также в Запорожской и Днепропетровской областях. После схода воды, на всей территории затопления будет повреждена система жизнеобеспечения населенных пунктов (канализация, водопровод, водоочистные сооружения, имеющие резервуары с химическими средствами), что приведет к резкому ухудшению санитарно-эпидемиологической обстановки и распростра-нению инфекционных заболеваний в Покровском и прилегающих районах.

📆 May 8 marks 55 years since the memorial architectural ensemble, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, was unveiled in the Alexander Garden by the walls of the Moscow Kremlin.

⭐️ The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a symbolic monument that pays tribute to soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War. The idea to erect the memorial was conceived in 1966 on the 25th anniversary of the Nazis’ defeat in the Battle of Moscow. Ashes of Soviet soldiers killed in action outside Zelenograd were buried in the Alexander Garden on December 3 of the same year.

📃 Presidential Executive Order of November 17, 2009 granted the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier the status of a National Memorial of Military Glory in order to preserve its historical cultural legacy for the peoples of the Russian Federation. It was included in the state register of especially valuable cultural heritage sites of the peoples of the Russian Federation.

💬 Sergey Lavrov: I would like to congratulate you on the 3️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy. Its activities are a fine example of Russian expert involvement in the foreign policy process.

▫️ We did everything in our power to avoid a direct conflict. But they issued a challenge and we have accepted it.

▫️ We do not remember anything like the current massive and synchronised expulsion of diplomats happening even in the grimmest Cold War years.

▫️ There are no traitors among our diplomats, although such attempts have been made from abroad and within the country.

▫️ The Americans started preparing the current crisis long ago, right after the end of the Cold War, having decided that the way to global hegemony was then open. NATO's eastward expansion has been one of the key components of such a course.

⚡️ On May 16, as a result of negotiations with representatives of Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works in Mariupol, an agreement was reached to evacuate the wounded.

▫️At present, ceasefire regime was established in the area of the enterprise and a humanitarian corridor was opened, through which wounded Ukrainian servicemen were transported to a medical facility in Novoazovsk, Donetsk People's Republic, to provide them with all necessary assistance.
