Next year's summit of the heads of BRICS states will be held in Kazan. An official decree was issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, 3 April.
✍️ "In connection with the forthcoming chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the BRICS association in 2024, I decide to determine the city of Kazan as the venue for the meeting of the BRICS heads of state in 2024 to form an organizing committee to prepare and ensure the chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the BRICS association in 2024," the decree says.
According to the presidential decree, an organizing committee for preparing and ensuring the Russian presidency in the bloc should be formed in the near future. Yury Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, was appointed as the head of the committee. He will approve the membership of the organising committee and the plan of the main events.
