📆 56 years ago, on 27 March 1968, Yuri Gagarin, Earth’s first cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union, died in a plane crash while test-piloting Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15.

🕯 He was only 34 when his life found a tragic end.

According to his friends, Yuri was not affected by his worldwide fame and remained as everyone knew him before the historic space flight – modest and kind to the people around him. He dearly loved his wife, Valentina, and his daughters.

🌐 Yuri Gagarin’s memory is cherished all over the world, with numerous monuments erected, streets, vessels and planes named after him.

🌠 Since 2000, “Yuri's Night”, an international celebration, is held annually to commemorate milestones in space exploration.

🇿🇦 In South Africa’s Hermanus, Western Cape, Yuri Gagarin’s bust was unveiled in November 2020 on South African National Space Agency’s site.

💬 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:

☝️ Almost all countries have condemned the attack at the Crocus City Hall. Only Kiev remained silent.

❗️The Ukrainian social media are posting cynical and inhuman comments. Some in Ukraine probably derive cannibalistic pleasure from human deaths, pain and suffering.
📆 On 28 March 1776, 248 years ago, Empress Catherine II signed and granted the Prince Petr Urusov the 'privilege' of organizing theatre performances, masquerades, balls and other forms of entertainment for a period of ten years.

It is from this date that the world-renowned Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre traces its history.

🏛 The Theatre's first building was erected on the right bank of the Neglinka river. It was built in record quick time – less than six months, and became the first public theatre building of such size and beauty.

The Bolshoi’s building was several times destroyed in fire, restored and renovated. The present-day building designed by architect Joseph Bové was opened in 1825.

🌟 After the October Revolution of 1917, a majority of the events were held by Soviet authorities in the Bolshoi Theatre – the All-Russian Congresses of Soviets, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee sessions, the Comitern Congresses and the likes. It was from the Bolshoi Theatre stage that the formation of a new country – the USSR – was proclaimed.

🇷🇺 President of Russia Vladimir Putin's remarks during his visit to the Russian Federation Defence Ministry’s 344th Centre for Combat Employment and Retraining of Army Aviation Pilots:

☝️ The West has been scaring its people with a “Russian threat” solely to funnel money to the military-industrial complex.

👉 Intimidation of their own population solely to get money out of them, out of their own people. Especially against the background of the fact that the economy is declining, the standard of living is falling. It's obvious.

❗️Russia has no plans to go to war with NATO, this is complete nonsense.

In 2022, the United States spent [on military] $811 billion, and the Russian Federation - $72 billion. Are we going to go to war with NATO at this ratio? Well, this is just nonsense.

🇷🇺🇿🇦📞 President Vladimir Putin spoke over the phone with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

The President of South Africa expressed his deep condolences and feelings of solidarity over the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. He wished resilience to the families and friends of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Leaders expressed satisfaction with the current level of strategic partnership between their countries and discussed issues of practical trade, economic, energy and humanitarian cooperation.

Speaking in the context of the #BRICS Chairmanship, which Russia has taken over from South Africa, they discussed interaction within the group in its new expanded format.

In light of the peace initiative advanced by African states to resolve the Ukraine crisis, Cyril Ramaphosa briefed Vladimir Putin on South Africa’s intention to continue working in this area with due regard for Russia’s legitimate interests. Vladimir Putin, in turn, outlined Russia’s position of principle on developments around Ukraine, noting that Russia had always been open to a serious and substantive discussion of a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.

What will be the endgame in Ukraine?

✍🏻 Article by Ambassador of Russia to South Africa Ilya Rogachev (28 March 2024)

READ IN FULL

➡️Key takeaways:

🔸The situation on the battlefield is growing worse for Ukraine and its Western allies amid the failed ‘counter-offensive’ and Russia’s resilience to sanctions pressure

🔸The collective West won’t stop supporting the Kiev regime because “the failure in Ukraine could be the beginning of the end of its golden age” (Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki)

🔸Some European officials started talking about NATO’s direct interference in Ukraine conflict. Many reckless politicians in the West really wish to go to war against Russia, hoping to achieve a military victory at least that way

In case of the West sending troops to Ukraine, we would need to talk not about the probability, but about the inevitability of a direct conflict between NATO and Russia.

🔸Who would benefit from a new war of Europe against Russia? US-based global companies already made billions on EU’s energy crisis, food market situation, must people now be sent to death to secure their interests in Ukraine?

🔸Western officials and mainstream media are frantically pushing the totally false ‘no-life-after-Ukraine’ narrative, trying to convince people that Ukraine crisis is existential for them. However, if it were not for the West, it wouldn’t have emerged at all.

🔸Ukraine crisis can be resolved rather easily – simply by taking Russia’s legitimate security concerns into account. They are basically about an indivisible security system in Eurasia, equal for all.

☝🏻The so-called ‘Zelensky peace formula’ and its variations cannot serve as a basis for conflict resolution as it totally ignores Russia’s security interests. It was initiated and is being promoted solely for propaganda purposes.
