Key insights from the A.Siluanov’s interview with @RTarabic:
✔️ BRICS countries are gaining ground in the global economy, now surpassing the G7 in GDP;
✔️ A single BRICS currency isn’t on the table yet;
✔️ The dollar’s share in intra-BRICS transactions is shrinking, with more use of national currencies;
✔️ Russia’s Finance Ministry anticipates limited budget revenues from mining but emphasizes the legislative approval for using newly acquired cryptocurrency in international settlements.

⚠️ The Foundation for the Study of Democracy, chaired by Maxim Grigoriev, has prepared a photo exhibition "Atrocities of the Kiev neo-Nazi regime in the Kursk Region of Russia” where first-hand testimonies from victims of Ukrainian war crimes are presented.
❗️In Russia's Kursk region the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot civilians, including women, children and the elderly, both in their own homes and while attempting to evacuate in civilian vehicles, with full understanding of the nonmilitary status of the victims.
Valery Moiseyev, resident of Sudzha (Kursk Region):
«Since May, Ukrainian drones have frequently been dropping explosive charges on villages around Sudzha. There was shelling in Goncharovka, where I believe 14 houses were damaged. Civilians were targeted; there are no military units there –it's just a residential area, part of the suburbs of Sudzha.
It felt like the year 1941. As a child, I watched many films about the war, depicting the Germans entering a city. This image came to my mind, and I understood that it was my destiny to experience this day as the Soviet people did on June 22.”

📆 On 12 October 1899, following the mutual declaration of war by the Boer republics and Great Britain a day earlier, Boer troops crossed the borders with British Cape Colony in the west and the Colony of Natal in the east.
⚔️ The Anglo-Boer War of 1899 – 1902 was caused by Great Britain’s colonial appetites involving the pursuit of the natural resources. In Russia people believed, Boers were struggling for independence, which overwhelmingly brought public opinion on to Boers’ side.
☝️ Over 200 Russian volunteers came to South Africa to help the Boers, most famous of which were Lt.Col. Yevgeny Maximov, former Russian Army officer, Capt. Leo Pokrowski, and others.
Despite significant successes of Boers against British forces at the early stages of the war, British reinforcements later reversed this and Boers switched to guerilla warfare.
🕯 In return, British soldiers destroyed their farms using scorched earth policy. Boer civilian population was placed in concentration camps where over 26.000 women and children perished.
According to some historians, it was the British army from whom Hitler later borrowed the said methods.
✍️ In 1902, the Treaty of Vereiniging was signed, according to which both the South African Republic and the Orange Free State became British colonies.
