⚡️ Terrible footage shows the aftermath of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the First Republican Supermarket in Russia's Donetsk.
👉 Reports indicate the supermarket was targeted using a U.S.-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher.
Emergency Ministry (EMERCOM) personnel are currently clearing the debris. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties thus far.
Neo-Nazis persist in committing crimes against civilian infrastructure and the residents of Russian cities.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin met with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Astana.
💬 Vladimir Putin: I remember how warmly you welcomed us all in China. I would like to thank you again for the hospitality you showed us, on behalf of my colleagues and myself. <...>
Our countries stood at the cradle of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in 2001. As the number of participants grew – and tomorrow Belarus will become another full member of the organisation – the #SCO also gained a bigger role as one of the key pillars of a just multipolar world order. We will certainly support China’s chairmanship of the SCO in 2024–2025 in every way.
🤝 We have repeatedly stated with good reason that Russia-China relations, our comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, are going through the best period in their history. They are guided by the principles of equality, mutual benefit and respect for each other’s sovereignty.
☝️ Our cooperation is not directed against anyone. We do not create any blocs or alliances; we are simply acting in the interests of our people.
Russia and China continue the series of events dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries we are marking this year.
📈 Trade is on the rise – we noted this during my visit to the People’s Republic of China, and we can reaffirm this today. We saw more positive trends in the first half of this year. <...>
🌐 Russian-Chinese cooperation in global affairs serves as a main stabilising factor on the international stage, and we continue to further enhance it.
This year, Russia holds the presidency of #BRICS, another organisation created on our initiative, and we hope that you and our colleagues will take part in the Kazan Summit in October.

#Ukraine
• On June 28, Zelensky extended greetings to Ukrainians on Constitution Day. It looked like a blatant mockery of the country’s citizens as well as its basic law. There is no way a person who has usurped power could be considered a guarantor of the Constitution in a democratic and law-based state.
❗️The road to Europe, which Zelensky covered in his “congratulations” much more extensively than the Constitution itself, is paved with dead Ukrainian citizens. <...> Condolences, not congratulations, are a far more suitable choice given the circumstances.
#Moldova
• The European Council has adopted a time-serving and totally politicised decision to open accession negotiations with Moldova on June 25. The Moldovan authorities saw this as the approval of their anti-Russia policy and a free hand to continue turning the republic into a “European dictatorship” under the guise of fighting the non-existent Russian “hybrid threats.”
☝️ Chisinau’s persecution campaigns and arbitrary acts are promoting an increasingly negative reaction in society.
#UnionState #RussiaBelarus #WWII
• Today, 80 years after the liberation of Belarus from the invaders, joint search teams and law enforcement agencies of the Union State of Russia and Belarus discover new crimes against humanity committed by the Nazi invaders and their collaborators.
👉 The enormous amount of work done by the two countries’ lawyers, historians and prosecutor’s offices made it possible to officially recognise the Nazi extermination policy during the war as a full-scale genocide of the Soviet people.

🎙 Russia's President Vladimir Putin took part in a SCO Heads of State Council Meeting in Astana (July 4, 2024)
💬 First of all, I want to greet everybody and, of course, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, following the accession of the Republic of Belarus as a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Russia gives high priority to partnership within the #SCO. We can state with satisfaction that this cooperation continues to develop consistently based on the principles of equality, consideration for each other’s interests, respect for the cultural and civilisational diversity, and cooperation in addressing important security issues.
<...>
Our countries are increasingly using national currencies for mutual settlements. For example, the share of national currencies in Russia's transactions with SCO members has exceeded 92 percent in the first four months of this year. I would like to reiterate Russia's proposal to establish a payment and settlement system within the SCO.
Regular meetings between our economic ministers, finance ministers and central bank governors are making a substantial contribution to the development of trade and investment relations in the SCO space.
<...>
Naturally, ensuring security within the Member States and along the external borders has always been a key focus of the SCO’s activities. Today, we have made decisions to upgrade the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure into a comprehensive centre that will address all security threats, as well as to establish an anti-drug centre in Dushanbe. The three-year cooperation programme we have approved will further strengthen our efforts to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the Russian Federal Assembly’s decision to suspend OSCE Parliamentary Assembly participation
💬 On July 3, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation voted to suspend the Russian delegation’s participation in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
This decision was taken in response to the openly discriminatory steps that a number of states took with regard to Russian parliamentarians, who were thereby excluded from the Assembly’s events in the United Kingdom, Poland and Canada under spurious pretexts.
In the most recent and particularly illustrative incident, the Romanian authorities unceremoniously refused to issue visas to the entire Russian delegation that was going to participate in the annual session of the OSCE PA in Bucharest (June 29 − July 3). The Belarusian delegation was also deprived of the opportunity to participate in the session.
👉 Such actions by the host country of the OSCE parliamentary body’s main annual event, with the tacit consent of the Assembly’s leadership, are absolutely unacceptable.
Taking advantage of the absence of two delegations, Russophobic parliamentarians used the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s rules of procedure to promote their own agenda and quickly adopt a resolution containing phrases like “the genocide of the Ukrainian people.” Our view on such paperwork is well known. A statement by the Russian Federal Assembly’s houses makes it clear that all decisions passed in the absence of the Russian delegation will be considered null and void. Moreover, this resolution runs counter to the February 2 decision of the UN International Court of Justice, which, as we know, rejected all of Ukraine’s accusations alleging that Russia had violated the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
No less odious is the resolution of the Bucharest session on the situation in Transnistria, which ignores the realities and has the potential to derail the normalisation of dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as the entire Transnistria settlement process.
☝️ It is obvious that the OSCE PA is increasingly drifting away from its main role as a platform for interparliamentary dialogue. With the suspension of Russia’s participation, that body runs the risk of becoming a mere political vestige.

💬 Vladimir Putin: I believe the growing interest in the work of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation stems from our core values and ideals: a commitment to pursuing a sovereign and independent policy, alongside a collaborative approach with other countries to find collective solutions to global problems. These principles resonate with many around the world. <...>
It is evident that the SCO is now one of the biggest and most influential regional organisations. <...>
☝️ The world is becoming genuinely multipolar, with an increasing number of states ready to decisively assert their legitimate rights and interests. New centres of power are emerging, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is solidifying its position as one of these key centres.
<...>
We appreciate the sincere and concrete proposals from SCO member countries for the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, a result of the reckless and intrusive policies of the United States and its satellites.
As you know, Russia has never refused to negotiate, and is now ready to continue peace talks. It is Ukraine that withdrew from the talks, and it also did so publicly, on direct orders from London – which means Washington was also involved, there is no doubt about it – as Ukrainian officials have admitted bluntly and openly.
❗️ The Istanbul agreements – we have to give credit to the President of Türkiye, Mr Erdogan, for agreeing to be part of that process as a mediator – are still on the table.
<...>
🤝 The SCO Member States coordinate their actions on the international track, including at the United Nations, and their foreign policy approaches are largely in accord or closely aligned.

⚡️⚡️ Ukraine launched a strike on an apartment building in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The people inside were evacuated, Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported.
❗️ The six-year-old girl injured in a drone strike has died in hospital. Six people, including another child, have been taken to the hospital, the governor said.
The Ukrainian strike also disrupted the operation of a power substation, which supplies a significant part of the city with energy. Repair and restoration work is underway, local authorities said.

📆 #OTD in 1943, 81 years ago, Wehrmacht commenced an offensive in the Kursk salient (operation “Citadel”) marking the start of the initial phase of what became known as the Battle of Kursk.
⚔️ Red Army’s victory at Stalingrad and the subsequent Soviet offensive on the broad front from the Baltic to the Black Sea undermined the Nazi Germany’s military power. In order to keep up the morale of his troops and to prevent the collapse of the Axis bloc, Hitler decided to organize a major operation on the Eastern front.
Soviet intelligence however was well aware of the planned strategic offensive by Wehrmacht in the Kursk salient. The Stavka (Soviet command) considered less efficient to strike first and agreed upon an alternative tactic instead – to wear out the enemy’s main forces by a strong defence and then counterattack the Nazis at Kursk.
⚔️ As part of the battle, a major clash occurred near Prokhorovka station (Russia’s Belgorod region) recognized as one of the largest tank battles ever and the final major offensive attempt by the Nazis on the Soviet territory.
👉 In total, up to 1,200 armoured vehicles participated in the fight for Prokhorovka with either side suffering big losses. At Prokhorovka, the defensive phase of the Battle of Kursk changed into an offensive one for the Soviet Union.
☝️ The Battle of Kursk went down in history as one of the crucial engagements of WW2 which is believed to have completely turned the tide of the war in favour of the USSR. In terms of troops and armaments involved, it is one the largest battles in military history.
As a result of the Battle of Kursk, Wehrmacht lost 30 elite divisions and some half a million of soldiers. The dissolution of the Nazi bloc began. The Soviet Union seized strategic initiative on the Eastern front to hold it for the rest of WW2.

🌐 The forum brought together more than 150 participants from 32 countries, including China, Ethiopia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Venezuela, Cuba, Belarus, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and others.
🎙 The plenary session was opened by Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party, who highlighted the effectiveness of the expanded format of BRICS inter-party forums. He emphasized the increasing importance of delegates from Global South and East countries in international relations.
☝️ Dmitry Medvedev proposed raising the issue of establishing a Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Colonialism at the UN General Assembly in September.
👉 The initiative to coincide this day with December 14 - the date of the adoption in 1960 of the UN General Assembly Declaration on granting independence to colonial countries and peoples - was put forward by participants of the "For the Freedom of Nations!" International Forum which was held in Moscow in February 2024.
👉 The Standing Committee of the Movement "For the Freedom of Nations!" has also formed an expert council and a coordinating working group, which will include representatives of the parties of the world's majority countries. They will assess the negative consequences of neocolonial practices for the development of states and calculate the material and non-material damage.
🤝 The forum resulted in adoption of a final statement by its participants, reflecting the united stance of United Russia and its foreign partners on enhancing cooperation across politics and security, economy and finance, as well as culture and humanitarian affairs within BRICS and beyond.
