BRICS expresses interests of global majority, says Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov in an interview to TASS (March 5, 2024):

READ IN FULL

🔹Cooperation within BRICS is undoubtedly one of the key features of Russia's long-term foreign policy.

🤝 Interaction with the association’s members meets the fundamental national interests of our country and fits in well with our systematic policy of forming a fair multipolar world order and creating equal opportunities for all countries to develop.

🔹 A high prestige and a really serious constructive role of BRICS in the world economy and politics naturally attract the attention of other countries, which have begun to show a desire to join the association’s activities in one way or another.

❗️Many perceive BRICS as a prototype of multipolarity, a structure uniting the Global South and East on the principles of equality, sovereignty and mutual respect.

🔹 Russia has never set BRICS in opposition to other international platforms, be it the Group of 20 or the Group of Seven. However, we believe that the association is unique.

👉 BRICS is a self-sustaining mechanism, which, as it has been repeatedly pointed out, plays one of the leading roles in shaping the global agenda.

🔹Given the expansion that has taken place, Russia’s BRICS Presidency this year has a special mission: to ensure a smooth incorporation of all new members of the association, while at the same time preserving and enhancing all the achievements accumulated over years and preserving and developing the experience of effective cooperation.

🔹 The Western countries are certainly not delighted to see the BRICS growing authority and influence.

☝️ Let us be honest - they are outspokenly jealous about its expansion, as well as about the fact that the countries of the Global Majority would like to unite more closely for cooperation on the BRICS platform. We have seen considerable evidence of the Western opponents trying to hamstring and weaken our association.

#Ukraine

Reeling from the loss of the strategically important town of Avdeyevka and infuriated by its own impotence in the face of the success of our Armed Forces, the Ukrobanderite neo-Nazi regime continues to take it out on Russian civilians, acting with habitual disregard for human life. It's making extensive use of the weapons supplied by the West to fire shells into Russian towns and villages and to carry out terrorist attacks.

Note that the Kiev junta still considers the above regions and towns to be Ukrainian, and their residents (they say so openly) to be citizens of Ukraine and yet it mercilessly bombards them. I can’t even begin to imagine what the criminal regime led by Zelensky would have done to these people if it could act on its notorious plans to “return” these territories to Ukraine. These plans will never come true. However, it is useful to imagine what could have happened.

#EU #Sanctions

A wave of farmers’ protests has swept over a half of EU countries, from Lithuania to Portugal, this year. <...> We have pointed out on numerous occasions that all this is a direct result of the anti-Russia sanctions.

To justify their decisions, European officials blame Moscow for their problems, in particular, the low prices of Ukrainian agricultural products imported to the EU and the negative effect this is having on its agricultural market. They traditionally propose dealing with these problems by fighting “the Russian threat.” <...> The immeasurable losses of their own farmers are nothing other than “collateral damage” of the pro-Ukraine hysteria in the EU

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's answer to a question from Rossiya 24 TV channel (Sochi, March 4, 2024)

Question: This is a youth festival. How important is it to convey to the younger generation the importance of a multipolar world and the fact that our country advocates this principle?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: I think this is one of the most important things that should be conveyed to young people. We all remember what it’s like to be young. It is then that you form your character, your views on issues that later become political, your understanding of your own interests and the conditions under which your vital interests will be best protected.

Multipolarity means being open to the whole world and using the experience of others without any of the artificial obstacles that are now being created by people who want, not a polycentric but a monocentric world.

Multipolarity means the absence of any barriers. This is the most important thing for a young person’s individual growth – to see the world, think globally, work and live, using all these advantages in their own country.

• The leaked audio recording of the Bundeswehr officers discussing nefarious plans and terrorist attacks against Russia and its civilian infrastructure.
• NATO's aggression and its main task being confrontation with Russia (as written down in its doctrinal documents)
• Anti-Russian sanctions backfiring on the West

🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions following the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (March 2, 2024)

Key talking points:

🔸 The UN is not a "bad organisation" per se and by itself. Let me stress once again that its Charter contains all the principles necessary to ensure fairness in international relations. Those who had decisive weight in the world economy and in technological development until recently, decided that they needed to manipulate international law in order to maintain their dwindling dominance. I think this is the main problem today.

🔸 We have no shortage of goodwill [for negotiations with Ukraine]. But we see a lack of it on the other side. And it is not so much goodwill that is in short supply as an understanding of what is happening.

🔸 The war camp in Europe remains strong. The most recent statements by French President Macron, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, and the dialogue of German generals go to show that the war party is insisting on its policy of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield.

🔸 We can withhold the funds that the Western countries hold in Russia and which were frozen in response to the seizing of Russia’s national reserves. There can be no doubt that we will respond appropriately.

🔸 The West must understand that they made a mistake in Ukraine and should right that wrong. We will not stop them from doing so in a way that will make them think they have saved face.

🔸 We are convinced that a Palestinian state is not a whim, nor just a resolution the UN approved in the remote past. It is impossible to stop violence in the Middle East unless it is implemented. The Arab street won’t calm down, when it sees injustice and how attempts are being made to perpetuate this injustice.

🔸 We are sorry that the Armenian leadership has apparently made a conscious decision to pursue a policy of undermining relations with Russia and blaming Russia for everything that happened to Nagorno-Karabakh. This is not in the nature of allied relations

💐 Today we extend congratulations to Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space, Hero of the Soviet UInion, who celebrates her 87th birthday!

Valentina Tereshkova was born in a village in Yaroslavl region, not far from Moscow. Her childhood was affected by two wars in a row. In 1939, her father was killed in action during the Winter War (1939-1940). Two years later, World War II came to the USSR, and the Nazi forces were stopped only 50 km away from the Yaroslavl region.

In 1959, V.Tereshkova unknowingly made a decision that completely changed her life: her friend talked her into joining a local skydiving club. Since that moment, V.Tereshkova spent every free minute there and soon became a regional champion in skydiving.

🚀 In March 1963, she was selected to pilot Vostok-6 2 years after Y.Gagarin’s legendary flight. Her code name was “Seagull”, and there was a picture of one she embroidered on her space suit.

💬 On 16 June 1963, when already at the launch site and approaching the rocket, she uttered the phrase: “Hey, sky! Take off your hat, I'm coming!” reminiscent of the 1914 V.Mayakovsky poem.

Throughout her further career, she was an instructor and a test pilot. In 1968, V.Tereshkova headed the Soviet Women’s Committee and held this position for 19 years.

She never called herself a feminist, but she made great contributions to the fight for women’s rights.

🎉 On the occasion of her birthday, we cordially wish Valentina Vladimirovna good health, fruitful work as the State Duma Deputy and every success in life!

⚠️ The neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine continues to commit crimes against Russian civilians, acting with habitual disregard for human life.

It is making extensive use of the weapons supplied by the West to fire shells into Russian towns and villages and to carry out terrorist attacks.

▪️ On February 21, the Ukrainian forces used the US-made HIMARS MLRS to launch a premeditated attack against (just think of it) the Kalinin Republican Clinical Hospital in central Donetsk. On the same day, they opened fire on residential neighborhoods in the Kirovsky, Kuibyshevsky and Kievsky districts of that city killing a woman and injuring seven more other people.

▪️On February 22, the Kiev regime used an UAV to attack a bus in the Kherson Region servicing the Novaya Kakhovka-Topolyovka route. The driver and a passenger were injured.

▪️On February 24, the Banderites attacked a Donetsk restaurant hosting a wedding reception from HIMARS MLRS. Luckily, no one was affected.

▪️On February 25, one civilian was killed by Ukrainian fire in the Kremensky municipal district, the LPR.

▪️On 3 March, the AFU militants killed a family by dropping explosives on a car in Gorlovka, DPR.

❗️ Note that the Kiev junta still considers the above regions and towns to be Ukrainian, and their residents (they say so openly) to be citizens of Ukraine and yet it mercilessly bombards them.

▪️ In addition, on February 26, Ukrainian gunmen attacked the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, the Belgorod Region, with mortars, injuring two children. They also attacked a civilian vehicle in the village of Pochayevo with a drone, killing three civilians and injuring four others.

‼️ All of these heinous atrocities by the Kiev regime are being documented by Russian law enforcement agencies. The perpetrators will inevitably be held accountable.

Ukrainian Nazism today: origin and ideological and political typology

Key points:

▪️ The current-day Ukrainian nationalism / Nazism partly dates back to the early 1990s. Its rise can be traced to the Nazi proponents and social engineering technologies being "exported" to Ukraine [from the West], which became an independent state following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

▪️ The world does not understand the nature of modern Ukrainian (neo)Nazism. The West prefers not to notice it and to stigmatize any considerations concerning this problem as a "Russian propaganda".

▪️After the coup d'état on February 21, 2014, carried out by the US, UK and a number of EU countries, the state OF Ukraine as such does not exist. It is more correct to speak about the state IN Ukraine. Ukraine as a state has been abolished and is under external administration.

▪️The rise of Nazism in Ukraine and the already accomplished transformation of this country into the epicenter of world Nazism/neo-Nazism is no longer a factor of internal Ukrainian politics or even Russian-Ukrainian relations. This is an important aspect of pan-European, and perhaps even world, politics.

What is interesting are the words said by Western figures, including the response of German politicians when the truth about the recording of conversations between German generals was revealed. Some of them are concerned there was a leak from a secure line. The fact that German weapons and the personnel servicing them are going to be used to attack the Russian Federation, including the Crimean Bridge and ammo depots, is not surprising. They wonder why the secure line turned out to be not so secure. This says a lot.

We have accumulated a lot of evidence on how the EU embassies in Moscow are preparing for our presidential elections. I am referring to interference mechanisms, certain “supporting projects” for the non-systemic opposition – in short, things that embassies have no right to address.

The Americans approach us every now and then. They have asked us not to deploy weapons in space. They have asked for a meeting. As if nothing happened. They say they must defeat us on the battlefield in Ukraine but other than that, let’s discuss strategic issues. President Vladimir Putin said that they are not serious and it goes against the natural course of things.

It seems to us that two weeks ago only the lazy didn’t contribute to the general discussion around the death of Alexey Navalny, with those obsessed with Western propaganda predictably blaming his death on Russia’s leadership.

In our view, in total lack of understanding of domestic political situation in Russia blatantly accusing Putin of alleged ‘killing of a political opponent’ is a clear sign of an author’s ‘twisted brain’.

We mean even the well-known Russophobe, Ukraine’s chief spy Kirill Budanov, responding to a media question about Navalny’s death, said: "I may disappoint you, but we know he died from a blood clot," adding that it was "more or less confirmed."

👉 We are not going to raise a discussion about Navalny and his role in Russia's political system, just wondering whether the above mentioned authors are aware that Navalny politicized even his own medical care. The blogger was reportedly immunized with US-made Pfizer vaccine 5 times, known for its side effects, including thrombosis…

✍️ From Galician Rus' to Western Ukraine

Article by Kirill Shevchenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Russian State Social University

🔹 Eastern Galicia has traditionally been considered a stronghold of Ukrainian nationalism. However, it didn't acquire such an ethno-cultural identity until after the genocide of Galician-Russian activists unleashed by the Austro-Hungarian authorities during World War I.

🔹 Even in the first quarter of the 20th century, Ukrainian identity was not fully shaped as such among Galician Russians. Researchers believe that at that time, half of the Galician peasantry did not possess a clearly expressed national identity in its modern sense and served as an object of struggle "for souls."

#Think4Yourself

Amid the recent statements by French President Macron regarding sending NATO troops to Ukraine, or reports related to the Bundeswehr leak which has revealed plans of attacking the Crimean bridge, one becomes more and more convinced that the West is indeed preparing for a war against Russia.

👉 Judge for yourselves.

The West is at the crossroads. They failed to ruin the Russian economy and stir a riot inside our country. They couldn’t isolate Russia and ‘cancel’ Russian culture, despite total ban on our media. The proxy war waged by the hands of Ukrainians and at the cost of their lives goes ill with the West as their warehouses are emptied out and the weapons supplies drop. The Armed Forces of Ukraine increasingly lack personnel, run short of ammunition and lose ground. It is becoming obvious that having bet all it had on Russia’s military defeat, the West has gotten itself into a political trap.

And the biggest concern is that we don’t see the rhetoric of US and EU officials becoming less bellicose. Quite the opposite, they speak more of a direct clash between NATO and Russia under the pretext that Russia allegedly ‘won’t stop.’

Apparently, they do not want to admit they were pursuing the wrong course with regard to Ukraine crisis, do not want to explain to their people why it was being done contrary to their countries’ interests, and do not want their people to hold them accountable.

❗️Against that background the path of further pushing for inflicting a military defeat upon Russia seems more acceptable to them, even though it puts the global security at risk.

Czech political analyst Petr Drulák says some representatives of NATO establishment are actually advocating and planning a war against Russia.

According to the expert one of the variants to start it is a false-flag operation. One of the Baltic states will claim it has been attacked by Russia and the bloc will have to interfere thereby launching the infernal mechanism, the expert says.

📆 #OTD, Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space who led the world into the era of space exploration, would have turned 90.

He was born in the village of Klushino near the town of Gzhatsk in Smolensk region. WW2 cast a gloom over the school years of young Yuri. The Nazis had taken over his native village the same year he started school. Two of Gagarin’s elder siblings were taken away to a German labor camp in 1943 and did not return until after the war.

🌟 In 1954, he joined the Saratov Amateur Flying Club and learned to fly a light aircraft. In 1957, Y.Gagarin was commissioned a lieutenant in the Soviet Air Force having accumulated 166 hours and 47 minutes of flight time. In March 1960 he was admitted to the 1st cosmonaut candidate group and started the training sessions in the newly built Star City in a suburb of Moscow.

🚀 Y.Gagarin’s “Vostok 1” spacecraft was launched at 9:07 AM Moscow time on 12 April 1961, orbited Earth once in 1 hour 29 minutes at a maximum altitude of 301 km.

When responding to the ground control if he was ready, he said, “Poekhali!” (“Let’s get going!” in Russian).

👨‍🚀 During his flight, Y.Gagarin famously whistled the tune of the traditional aviation hymn, “The Motherland Hears, The Motherland Knows.” The first report he sent to the ground control was, “The earth is blue. [...] How wonderful. It is amazing.”

🕊After his legendary flight he never went to space again, but took an active part in training other cosmonauts. He toured several times to other nations with a so-called Mission of Peace, and from 1962 he served as a deputy to the Supreme Soviet.

🕯 Y.Gagarin tragically died in a plane crash during a routine test flight. At that time, he was 34.
