The recent honoring of Waffen-SS veteran Yaroslav Hunka in Canada’s House of Commons was hardly surprising, given the country’s history of harboring Nazi criminals after World War II.

🇨🇦 Against the background of the Hunka turmoil, prominent Jewish groups renewed calls to declassify documents on former Nazi soldiers evading justice within Canada.

☝️ Yet until today, only redacted portions of the report have been released, omitting an appendix with the names of alleged Nazi war criminals who might be living in Canada.

❗️Due to the secretive nature of the report’s contents, it remains unclear how much the government investigated other individuals suspected of war crimes.

💬 "It's now time for Ottawa to not only release the unredacted files related to the Deschênes Commission, but to also address the stark reality that there are still former Nazis with blood on their hands living in Canada," Michael Levitt, president of Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, said in a statement following the Hunka scandal.

🇷🇺🇪🇬📞 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a telephone conversation.

Vladimir Putin thanked Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for Egypt's comprehensive assistance in the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip.

The Leaders continued their discussion of the highly aggravated situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. Expressing profound concern over the unprecedented rise in casualties among the civilian population, including thousands of children and women, the Leaders underscored the critical importance of promptly halting the bloodshed, releasing hostages and ensuring an unimpeded provision of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of Gaza.

The Parties noted the alignment of Russia’s and Egypt’s approaches to resolving the situation in the region by establishing an independent Palestinian State, coexisting in peace and security with Israel on a universally recognised international legal basis.

The Leaders of Russia and Egypt will stay in contact.

The Times continues to praise the #Azov terrorist battalion

🗞 Yesterday, the British newspaper has published an article about the return of Nazis from the terrorist Azov to the front line.

✍️ At the same time, the paper has written:

"The brigade says that it has no political ambitions and denies all allegations of racism or fascism. Analysts say that although Azov has undeniable far-right roots, these have been diluted by the influx of thousands of new recruits who were attracted by its reputation as a tough, professional fighting force rather than any political ideology."

☝️ The whole world once fought Nazism, but today the Western media glorifies terrorists and war criminals.

#MiddleEast

• The cessation of hostilities and stopping of violence, is of huge importance to the civilians, but in historical terms, in sustainable settlement terms the second aspect of this problem, which is much more important, the creation of the Palestinian state is unavoidable.

• Of course, these days, Washington is highly ideologized. And anything coming from Russia is taken as a hostile act, hostile initiative. But on substance, in practical terms, Washington doesn't want to tie Israel's hands.

• Americans say that some pro-Iranian armed groups in Syria and Iraq are trying to attack American military sites. This is reported by the media. There is nothing new in this because these groups believe that the presence of the United States in Syria is absolutely illegal and this is a statement of fact.

#RussiaAfrica

• The most popular topic at the 2nd #RussiaAfrica Summit was that Africa does not want any longer to be a very rich continent which does not enjoy the richness it possesses, like in the colonial times, when most of the resources are being pumped raw into developed countries and then processed and sold with huge profit.

#Eurasia

• The Eurasian continent, especially the Asian part of the Eurasian continent, becomes a powerhouse of the world economy. Integration structures existing in Eurasia established close links between themselves.

• Greater Eurasian Partnership must be open to all countries and organizations situated on the Eurasian continent, leaving the door open [even] to those who believe that they are masters of the universe.

#MultipolarWorld

• The process of shaping the new world order will take time. It might be a historic era, a whole historic era.

• The reform of the United Nations is a must, if only because multipolarity brought to the key positions many new players who are not now represented in the Security Council as permanent members.

🎙 Excerpts from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview for the RT channel (Moscow, November 15, 2023)

💬 We have never, during the last 30 years, tried to underestimate the importance of good relations with Israel and the importance of good relations with Israel’s Arab neighbors. And we played a role promoting peace on the basis of the final solution of this Middle East issue in accordance with the United Nations’ resolutions and decisions.

We have been a member of the Quartet of International Mediators from the very beginning of the functioning of this structure. The only structure recognized officially by the Security Council as having the mandate to mediate.

There were so many opportunities missed. There were so many attempts when a deal seemed to be close, so many attempts to replay the game.

☝️ But we keep our relations with both parties. <...> And we will continue to push for the immediate goal – the cessation of hostilities for humanitarian purposes.

👉 After that we all must take a deep breath and think how we restore Gaza, how we make sure that no one is expelled from Gaza. That there is no movement into Egypt and into Jordan of all those who used to live in Gaza, because this is what worries our Egyptian and Jordanian friends. And this would of course ruin all the resolutions of the Security Council that Gaza is Palestine, together with the West Bank.

Placement of children left without parental care, under foster care in the families of 🇷🇺 citizens

In Apr-Oct 2022, 3️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ orphans & children left without parental care from the Donetsk Peoples Republic and the Lugansk Peoples Republic were placed to Russian foster families from 1️⃣9️⃣ regions of the country.

❗️Adoption was not used as a form of family placement with respect to those children.

Assistance in placing children in foster care was temporary and urgent: it was necessary to remove children promptly from under fire and give them a family environment.

All children who were placed under foster care acquired 🇷🇺 citizenship, retaining the citizenship of the LPR, DPR, or Ukraine.

☝️ Foster care has been identified as the preferred form of placement of a child in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which recognizes that the child, for the full and harmonious development, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.
