🇷🇺 Excerpts from the briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow, June 29, 2022
Update on Ukraine
🔹Almost the entire territory of the LPR, a considerable part of the DPR, all of the Kherson Region and big parts of the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the ports of Mariupol & Berdyansk in the Sea of Azov have been liberated from the neo-Nazis since the start of the special military operation. People are returning to a peaceful life, restoring the economy and industry, and rebuilding infrastructure.
🔹Our Armed Forces are striking only military facilities and using only precision weapons in the operation. A ceasefire is regularly established and humanitarian corridors are created for evacuating civilians from dangerous areas. Since the start of the operation, over 2,150,000 people, including over 340,000 children have left for Russia. Russia is providing humanitarian aid to the Ukrainians who have been freed from the neo-Nazis, as well as to people in the DPR and the LPR. Since February 24 of this year, it has delivered about 37,000 tonnes of food products, medications & other basic necessities to these areas.
🔹Outrageous provocation was the Zelensky regime’s attempts to accuse the Russian Armed Forces of striking a shopping centre in Kremenchug on June 27. Shops of the Kremenchug Road Machine Plant – Kredmash Defence Plant – are located several dozen metres away from this shopping centre. These shops stored weapons and ammunition that were sent by the US and EU countries for use by Ukrainian Armed Forces units in Donbass.
🔹Maybe the Western public should ask their governments why they delivered and stored weapons in the direct vicinity of a shopping centre. This is done deliberately. This is exactly what we call hiding behind civilians. Russian Aerospace Forces’ precision strikes destroyed the plant’s shops, not the shopping center or the civilians.
🔹Russia is not preventing the export of grain from Ukraine. The Russian Defenсe Ministry opens safe corridors every day and informs its partners and the International Maritime Organisation about them. We are ready to ensure the safe passage of foreign merchant ships from the Bosporus to Ukrainian territorial waters and back. It is the Ukrainian authorities that are responsible for ensuring the safe passage of merchant ships in their territorial waters by demining or by safe pilotage.
🔹Russia is ready to export tens of millions of tonnes of its own grain if Western bans against it are lifted. What is the West worried about, preventing hunger in the world? Then stop blocking the food supply chain. The same people who are developing new restrictions on logistical, financial and economic services are intelligently discussing what to do to freely distribute foodstuffs to all countries at the negotiating table. What is this? Cynicism? Stupidity? Impudence? I think this is a crime of universal scale.
🔹The US and its allies continue flooding Ukraine with weapons. According to Western analysts, the amount of military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine they pledged since January 24 totals over $80 billion, of which 45 percent goes towards purely military support. Arms supplies pose a security threat not only in Ukraine, but beyond its borders as well. Soon enough, thousands of Stinger MANPADS, Javelin ATGMs, grenade launchers and other military equipment may and will find their way to global black markets.
🔹The West continues to whip up tensions and artificially draw out the special military operation by providing Kiev with military assistance and political support. Dragging out the special operation will do nothing but increase the number of civilian casualties in the republics of Donbass and Ukraine. The West is aware of that. They just don't care.
🔹The West’s aggressive attempts to push its vision of the world order on everyone and the cynical use of the Ukrainian factor towards this end is yet more proof of the relevance of the special military operation’s goals.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 From Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answers to media questions at a joint news conference with Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei following talks, Minsk, June 30, 2022
▪️ As for our relations with the EU, Russia has not had them since 2014. Brussels swallowed the humiliating move by the opposition forces which perpetrated a coup in Ukraine in defiance of EU guarantees. In response, the Crimea residents refused to live in a neo-Nazi state. Ukraine’s eastern regions did the same, and the European Union failed to muster enough courage to talk sense into the putschists who carried out an illegal power grab, and in fact began to support them in their attack, including physical, on the people of Crimea and eastern Ukraine. When the referendum took place in Crimea and the DPR and the LPR were proclaimed, the European Union, instead of pushing for compliance with the agreements between President Yanukovych and the opposition it had co-sponsored, sided with the ultranationalist and deep down neo-Nazi regime which proclaimed fighting the Russian language and culture as its goal. In the years that followed, the regimes led by Poroshenko and Zelensky proved Kiev’s loyalty to this particular course.
▪️ In 2014, when it all happened, the EU, feeling powerless and aware of its own inability to enforce implementation of its own proposals, said the Russian Federation was to blame. It imposed sanctions on our country and cancelled the Russia-EU summit planned for June 2014, destroyed every other mechanism that it took us decades to create, such as biannual summits, annual meetings between the Russian Government and the European Commission, four common spaces that underlay four road maps, 20 sector-specific dialogues, including a dialogue on visa-free travel and much more. All of that was ruined overnight. Relations have been non-existent since then. There were occasional technical contacts, but nothing major. No wonder there are no relations now, but we never close ourselves off. From now on, we will never trust the Americans or the EU. We are doing our best not to depend on them in the sectors that are critically important for survival of the state, the people and our security. When and if they get over their obsession and come back with some kind of a proposal, we will see what exactly it is about. We will not play along with their self-serving plans. If it comes to resuming the dialogue, we will push for a level playing field for everyone and a focus on balancing the interests of all participants on an equal footing.
▪️ With regard to the Iron Curtain, it is already on its way down. They should make sure they don’t get anything caught in it as it goes down. In all other matters, we have a straightforward position: we are for things being fair.
▪️ In 2014, our “partners” refused to hold a summit amid serious events, including a coup, a referendum in Crimea, and a radical change in the situation in the Black Sea region. If you were serious about searching for solutions, this meeting was the way forward. It could have been used to have a candid discussion about the complaints and the counter questions the partners in the Russian Federation had for the EU. The withdrawal from all contacts that took place after March 2014 only goes to show that the EU is not interested in a dialogue, and does not want to understand our interests or listen to what we have to say. What it wants is for everyone to agree with the Brussels’ decisions which are a carbon copy of the decisions made in Washington. We have been able to see that in recent years.

Children Living Under Ukranian Army Shelling
‘It’s an eighty. I’ll put it down. I mustn’t touch it. And this is a small one. And this here is a shell’s tail. See, I’m holding it’. These are the toys of Donbass children. They don’t know what a peaceful life looks like.
For 8 years, the kids went to school during shelling. Some never returned home. Now more and more cities are returning to normal life. Children believe that they can safely study on their land.
Our short doc is about those who have never seen peace in their lives.

🇷🇺 Excerpts from the briefing by Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry Information and Press Department Alexey Zaitsev, Moscow, July 6, 2022
Update on Ukraine
🔹 The special military operation in Ukraine continues. Russian troops, in conjunction with the self-defence forces from the Donetsk & Lugansk republics, are on a mission to demilitarise & denazify Ukraine, to liberate Donbass & to eliminate threats to Russia coming from that country.
🔹 On July 3, the allied forces established full control over Lisichansk & its suburbs, thus fully liberating the LPR from the neo-Nazis. Relief efforts are underway to deal with the aftermath of the hostilities, as water & energy supplies & economic activity are being restored & transport service is being resumed. Kindergartens, outpatient clinics & hospitals will reopen soon.
🔹 Mariupol is being rebuilt at a fast pace. Residential buildings & civil infrastructure facilities are being built fast. Military builders are saying over 1,000 flats will be built before the end of the year.
🔹 Kiev is trying in every way to obstruct the efforts to restore peaceful life in the liberated territories & to intimidate their residents. The intimidation methods remain the same & include massive MLRS & large-caliber artillery strikes on urban & rural areas. Reports about the resumption of regular road & rail passenger traffic between Melitopol & Crimea were apparently taken by the Ukrainian command as a signal to shell that city in the Zaporozhye region. Dozens of long-range missiles were fired at it during the night of July 1.
🔹 Donetsk & its suburbs came under an even larger & more brutal strike on July 4. The Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted children's & medical institutions, grocery stores, farmer’s markets, factories & residential buildings. In all, about 500 mines & shells were fired, most of them of NATO calibre. The ammunition used in the attacks & the artillery mounts came to Ukraine from the US, Great Britain, Canada, & Australia. Unfortunately, tragic loss of life ensued.
🔹 The death of civilians, including children, does not seem to stop anyone in the West. On July 1, that is, literally just before the barbaric bombings of the DPR, Washington announced a new round of military assistance to Ukraine for buying ammunition for MLRS & other types of long-range artillery. In all, over the past two weeks, the US has confirmed its plans to spend more than $2.3 billion on these needs. In turn, in a telephone conversation with President Zelensky, the British prime minister promised to send 10 new self-propelled gun mounts to the Armed Forces of Ukraine & loitering munitions soon.
🔹 The West is not going to abandon its strategy of further escalating the situation in Ukraine which was confirmed during the NATO summit on June 28-29 which decided to provide a reinforced support package for Kiev. Massive arms supplies are heading to Ukraine in an uninterrupted flow. More than 28,000 tonnes of military cargo have already been delivered. The European allies of Ukraine are actively encouraging the Kiev regime’s militaristic aspirations. Their donor conferences that are formally designed to help raise funds for the reconstruction of the country are intended to fulfill this goal. In fact, we are talking about raising funds for pressing on with hostilities against Russia. This was the case in late February & early May, when Great Britain & then Poland took action to jumpstart Western countries’ efforts to fund arms supplies & provide Ukraine with other kinds of military assistance. Apparently, the latest donor forum in Lugano, Switzerland, held on July 4-5 was no exception. Kiev's foreign curators have again expressed their willingness to shell out some money & showed no sign of seeking a peaceful settlement.
🔹 All of this goes to show the importance of demilitarising Ukraine & liberating it from neo-Nazis who continue to terrorise the people of Donbass & to generate threats to Russia's security.

⚡️☣️ Excerpts from the Russian Defence Ministry briefing on the results of analysing documents related to the military-biological activity of the USA in Ukraine
🔻 One of the key Pentagon contractors, Metabiota, was involved in the response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. The special military operation has led to receiving documents that reveals the plans of Metabiota and the Ukrainian Scientific-Technological Centre to study the Ebola virus in Ukraine.
🔻 Ukraine and other post-Soviet states have become a testing ground for biological weapons not only for the USA, but also for its NATO allies; on the first place, Germany. Various projects have been carried out on behalf of the Joint Medical Service of the German Armed Forces.
🔻The lack of therapeutic effect of antibacterial medication has been reported during in-patient treatment of AFU servicemen in medical facilities. This fact may indicate preventive use of antibiotics and preparation of personnel for operating in conditions of biological contamination.

🇷🇺 President of Russia Vladimir Putin during the meeting with State Duma leaders and party faction heads:
➖ The so-called collective West led by the United States has been extremely aggressive towards Russia for decades. Our proposals to create a system of equal security in Europe have been rejected. Initiatives for cooperation on the issue of missile defence were rejected. Warnings about the unacceptability of NATO expansion, especially at the expense of the former republics of the Soviet Union, were ignored. Even the idea of Russia's possible integration into this North Atlantic alliance at the stage of our, as it seemed then, cloudless relations with NATO, apparently, seemed absurd to its members.
➖ Why? Just because they do not need a country like Russia, that is why. That is why they supported terrorism and separatism in Russia, and internal destructive forces and a ‘fifth column’ in our country. All of them are still receiving unconditional support from the collective West.
➖ We are being told, we hear some people say that we started the war in Donbass, in Ukraine. No, the war was unleashed by the collective West, which organised and supported the unconstitutional armed coup in Ukraine in 2014, and then encouraged and justified genocide against the people of Donbass.
➖ If the West wanted to provoke a conflict in order to move on to a new stage in the fight against Russia and a new stage in containing our country, we can say that it has succeeded to a certain extent. A war was unleashed, and the sanctions were imposed. Under normal circumstances, it would probably be difficult to accomplish this.
➖ Today we hear that [the West wants] to defeat us on the battlefield. Well, what can I say? Let them try. We have already heard a lot about the West wanting to fight us ”to the last Ukrainian.“ This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, but that seems to be where it is going.

Nikita Buranov, a military historian, claims fascist ideology has been planted in Ukrainians from childhood. Their mentors make heroes out of criminals: ‘They drew parallels between SS death squads and Soviet liberators and defenders. This is why all those National Battalions of Azov militants have no qualms about using SS insignia,’ explains Nikita.

💬 On July 9-10, the public protests in the capital of Sri Lanka over the serious aggravation of the socioeconomic situation in the country gave way to unrest and the seizure of the residences of the country’s top officials. In all, about 100 people were injured during the protests. According to the Russian Embassy in Colombo, there were no Russians among the victims.
According to reports, the country’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has resigned to meet the protesters’ demands. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has announced his decision to step down within the next few days.
We believe that the developments in Sri Lanka are its internal affair and the political process in that country.
We recommend that Russian nationals in Sri Lanka exercise caution and stay away from public spaces with large gatherings of people.

#Opinion by Maria Zakharova:
The US administration believes Russia is keeping up to 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens on its territory by force. Their passports were taken and replaced with Russian documents, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
💬 I need a medical encyclopedia; this case must be described somewhere.

❗️ Busting European Union Myths (2nd Edition)
🇪🇺 The European Union is continuing its aggressive anti-Russia campaign aimed at undermining Russia as a responsible player on the global market of agricultural products and fertilisers.
☝️ These actions may worsen the already challenging global food security situation. Responsibility for this lies entirely with the EU.

Elena and Anastasia Steshenko (12 years old) tell us what happened as a result of the shelling of Svatovo by Ukrainian militants:
Elena: We were at home and ran to the square. While running, we saw the wounded in a terrible state. But, of course, I was looking for my daughter...
I saw the bodies. A man said that there were wounded and corpses lying around the city near the cafes.
Anastasia: I was walking near the school... I got a splinter in my right cheekbone.

🇷🇺 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ statement on the situation in Ukraine
❓ Question: What can you tell us about UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres saying on July 14 that he was shocked by a rocket fired into the city of Vinnitsa, central Ukraine?
💬 Maria Zakharova: Indeed, this statement by Antonio Guterres has come to our attention. Here’s what I would like to say.
What we are seeing now is something that goes back in time. Contrary to the requirements in the UN Charter, the Secretariat is not taking an equidistant position, as one would expect from a Secretariat of the most authoritative international organisation that is designed, among other things, to promote the settlement of disputes.
Now with regard to this particular case. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, high-precision Kalibr missiles were used in Vinnitsa targeting a garrison house of officers which at that moment was housing a meeting of the Ukrainian Air Force command with representatives of foreign arms suppliers. The UN is probably aware of that. If not, then we suggest that Mr Guterres ask Ukraine why the Kiev regime is placing military facilities in close proximity to civilian buildings.
At the same time, for some reason, like many other UN representatives, the Secretary-General does not see the Armed Forces of Ukraine fire direct missile strikes against civilian targets and residential urban areas. I will give examples. Regarding the shelling of Kursk and Belgorod on July 3, as well as the shelling of Novaya Kakhovka on July 12, when warehouses with saltpeter exploded and residential buildings, a church and other buildings were damaged, the force of the detonation was similar to the explosion in the port of Beirut, and according to the regional Interior Ministry, approximately 190 people asked for medical help. Neither Mr Guterres, nor his official representative, nor anyone else from the UN Secretariat condemned the attack on civilians and civilian infrastructure as in the case of Vinnitsa. In response to a specific request to comment on the incident in Novaya Kakhovka, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary General, Farhan Haq, said there were no comments on that matter. On earlier occasions, the UN has repeatedly ignored reports of civilian deaths, including children, caused by Ukrainian troop fire. Also, UN Secretary-General Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric had no information about Ukraine using civilians as a human shield (March 3 briefing https://www.un.org/press/en/2022/db220303.doc.htm).
I would like to remind our esteemed colleagues from the UN Secretariat that their job is not to take sides in disputable situations, but to help maintain peace and stability. This is what they are paid for and this is their mandate

✍️ Russian FM Sergey Lavrov’s article «Staged incidents as the Western approach to doing politics», published in Izvestia newspaper
Read in full
🔹 All the good relations talk, the West’s proclaimed readiness to take into account the rights and interests of Russians who ended up in independent Ukraine or other post-Soviet countries after the collapse of the USSR turned out to be mere pretence.
🔹 Ukraine, Moldova and other countries being courted by the EU today are destined to be extras in the games of the West.
🔹 The collective West should come back to Earth from the world of illusions. The staged incidents, no matter how long they go on, will not work. It is time for fair play based on the international law rather than cheating.
🔹 The sooner everyone realises that there are no alternatives to objective historical processes where a multipolar world is formed based on respect for the principle of sovereign equality of states, fundamental for the UN Charter and the entire world order, the better.
