🇷🇺 🎶 On February 7, 2024, on the occasion of the Russian Language Days the Russian Folk Ensemble “Spasskaya Sloboda” performed in the Russian House in New Delhi.

The group introduced Russian traditional folk songs and dresses to Indian school students.

The programme concluded with a rope-pulling competition.

🇷🇺 🤝 🇮🇳 On February 7-8, 2024, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov took part in the negotiations between Dr Alexey Likhachev, Director General, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, and Dr Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, AEC, & Secretary, DAE, Government of India, held at the Kudankulam NPP in Tamil Nadu.

⚡️ They discussed ongoing tasks in the construction of Units 3-6 of the KKNPP as well as promising areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in nuclear energy, including within BRICS.

⚡️ The signing of a Protocol on amendments to the 2008 intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the construction of additional nuclear power plant units at Kudankulam site as well as in the construction of Russian designed nuclear power plants at new sites in India took place.

🇷🇺 🤗 🇮🇳 On February 6, 2024, representatives of the Russian Embassy in India and the Folk Ensemble “Spasskaya Sloboda” from the Tula Region visited the Sancta Maria International School in Faridabad, Haryana.

✨ Indian students for the first time took part in Russian folk games, dances, including the traditional circle ones - khorovods, got acquainted with the rural folklore of Central Russia, and tried their hand at playing accordion.

🎶 At the end of the event, they were already performing “Kalinka” with great enthusiasm along with Russian artists.

🇷🇺 On the occasion of the upcoming Russian Diplomats' Day the feature film “Afanasy Nikitin. A Journey Beyond the Three Seas” was screened on February 8, 2024, at the Russian Embassy’s school.

It was introduced by an interactive lecture, where students learnt about the course of the journey and its significance for future contacts between Russia and India.

🗺 The brave Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin, sitting foot in India in the latter half of the XV century, has outpaced British, Dutch and Portuguese travelers. His legendary voyage and the book written about India have become the symbols of Russian-Indian friendship.
