🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On September 11-12, Ratheesh Nair, Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum, visited Astrakhan as part of his “Voyage@555” project dedicated to the 555th anniversary of Afanasy Nikitin's journey.

🤝 An online meeting of the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry with representatives of the Indian states of Kerala and Gujarat was organized.

🟣Ratheesh Nair also held meetings with the administration of the Astrakhan State University and attended the opening ceremony of the youth center of the Astrakhan branch of the Russian Geographical Society.

🖼 As part of the visit, the Museum of Local Lore hosted an exhibition of paintings and sketches by Indian artist S.Radhakrishnan dedicated to Afanasy Nikitin's book “A Journey Beyond The Three Seas”.

🌍 On September 11, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai hosted the grand opening of the #BRICS Universe International Photo Exhibition organized with the support of the Consulate General of Russia in Mumbai.

🟣The BRICS Universe project is a unique series of exhibitions featuring 40 photographs of the UNESCO Creative Cities from the BRICS countries. The photographs were taken both from Earth and from the ISS by cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Ivan Wagner.

🧑‍🚀 The ceremony was attended by Hero of Russia, pilot-cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Deputy Consul General of Russia in Mumbai Maxim Aleshin, Chairman of the NCPA KN Suntook, Director of the Nehru Planetarium in Mumbai Arvind Paranjpye, Russian compatriots and residents of the city.

💬 Deputy Consul General Maxim Aleshin underscored that the exchange of culture, art and traditions among the BRICS countries contributes to the formation of a common identity and partnership based on mutual respect and understanding.

✍️ The programme included a film on the modern achievements of Russian cosmonautics and a quiz. The event ended with a creative meeting and an autograph session with Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.

📆 The exhibition in Mumbai will be open till September 28. Previously, it was presented in Moscow, St Petersburg, Rio de Janeiro, Kargopol, Beijing, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod. By the end of October, the project will also cover Cape Town and Kazan.

📆 On September 11-14, the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University hosted a discussion platform on seismology and volcanology.

🟣Scientists from India, Philippines, Malaysia, Syria, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Russia discussed innovative methods of disaster forecasting, modern public warning systems, strategies of liquidation of consequences of disasters.

🌋 In addition to the panel discussions, the researchers visited the Avacha Pass, where they exchanged experience of field research and saw natural phenomena of Kamchatka. According to them, Kamchatka is a "natural "testing ground" for research and a point of attraction for seismologists and volcanologists from all over the world.
