Polar Day has started in Norilsk & Murmansk!

In the world's largest cities above the Arctic Circle, the sun will not set below the horizon until the end of July. This means that, at night, it will be as bright as day.
In Norilsk, the Polar Day lasts 68 days, in Murmansk - 62 days.

In addition, a month before the Polar Day and a month after, northerners also observe the White Nights.
The Polar Day occurs at all latitudes above the Arctic Circle. In Salekhard, it lasts about a month, in Vorkuta - 46 days, in Pevek - three months and, in Dixon, the northernmost settlement of Russia - about 100 days.

📚 The opening of a center for studying the Russian language at an international school took place in a solemn atmosphere. Pushkin - the great Russian poet, founder of the Russian literary language.

On May 29, the #EAEU Member States celebrate the Day of the Eurasian Economic Union. #OTD, 10 years ago, in 2014, the Treaty on the EAEU was signed in Kazakhstan.

Over the 10 years of its existence, the Union has become a key platform for cooperation and interaction between the states of Greater Eurasia.

📝 Today, the association has ambitious tasks, including stimulating investment activity in the EAEU countries, accelerating the development of the association and its member states as well as expanding trade and economic relations of the Eurasian Economic Union with foreign partners, including through the conclusion of new agreements on the free trade zone.

🇸🇬 In 2015 and 2019 similar agreements were concluded with Vietnam, Serbia and Singapore.

🇮🇳 On May 28, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko received Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar at his request.

💬 The parties discussed the processes of emergence of a multipolar world. They exchanged opinions on the current international situation, including the one in Europe. The Russian side pointed out the confrontational policy of the collective West towards Russia and other states pursuing their national interests. The responsibility of the European Union and NATO for undermining global security, the rise of neo-Nazism as well as the dragging out and escalation of the conflict around Ukraine was underscored.

➕Other issues on the regional and international agenda were also touched upon, including cooperation within BRICS under the Russian Chairmanship as well as aspects of Eurasian security.

➡️ The parties reaffirmed the intention to continue the dialogue.

🇮🇳 On May 27, the Russian House in New Delhi together with the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots (IARC) visited the Mala Smriti orphanage in Noida.

➡️ Employees of the Russian House and the IARC activists handed over a batch of humanitarian aid (clothes, shoes, toys and sweet gifts) to a shelter for orphans.

🤝 The children made a surprise for the guests, recited poems and shared their knowledge in the field of biology. Director of the shelter, Shaikhar Vishvas thanked the Russian guests and noted that the aid will help to cover part of the orphanage's large expenses.
