❗️ #DebunkingMyths spread by the EU leadership

Myth: Russia is offering 1 million tonnes of grain to African countries in a parody of generosity. What cynicism and contempt for African countries, when we know that the Black Sea agreement has so far delivered more than 30 million tonnes of exports, mainly to the most vulnerable countries. And that the solidarity routes, alternative routes developed by the EU and with the EU, have already enabled 40 million tonnes of grain to be exported. 1 million tonnes offered — as if it were a gift. This is absolutely appalling cynicism. On the other hand, there are those who are really fighting to come to the aid of the most fragile and vulnerable populations.

Fact: This statement by Charles Michel has no basis in reality. Ukrainian grain has mostly been delivered and continues to be delivered to the EU.

The President of the European Council’s statement represents not only a textbook case of crude EU propaganda but also a fundamentally new chapter in the history of European public opinion.

However, things that Charles Michel has held back are even more interesting.

👉 Let's take a closer look:

• The EU member states are the main beneficiaries of the Black Sea Initiative since about 40 percent of the Ukrainian agricultural products exported via this route went their way. The share of recipients from the countries that are most in need is less than 3 percent.

• Over nearly 18 months, the EU has failed to establish food exports via the “solidarity corridors” to third countries, if such a goal really existed in the first place.

• The EU needs to offset the damage to its own food security caused by unilateral sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus and ill-conceived policies in the macroeconomic, energy, and food sectors.

• The EU intentionally overstates the potential of Ukrainian agricultural output to ensure global food security (Ukraine's share of the global wheat market is no more than 5 percent).

🎙 Excerpt from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with TASS information agency (Moscow, September 27, 2023)

Question: I have to ask about a pressing topic, Armenia. Do you think Armenia may lose Russia?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: There are plenty of those willing to lose Russia and gain new friends.

Historically, geographically and geopolitically, it is simply not possible to lose Russia by totally ignoring its interests in the South Caucasus. Yet, certain top officials in Yerevan harbour such hopes, and openly admit it.

A similar idea was alluded to in the recent remarks by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who spoke about the need to make up for the failed alliances that Armenia had expected to ensure its security, and to expand its circle of security partners.

If they are counting on the US (which directly follows from statements made by many Armenian leaders), they had better look at recent history to see how the US treated those it sought to take under its wing as it advanced its geopolitical interests in faraway territories of the world.

☝️ The fate of all these people is rather unenviable.
Tonight, the heart of New Delhi pulsated with the enchanting performance brought to life by the Song and Dance Theater Moroshka, showcasing their special program — "St. Petersburg's Russian Miracle." 🌆

The ethereal melodies of Russian folk songs and the dynamic movements of traditional dances wove a captivating spell over the audience. The stage transformed into a vibrant canvas, painting a living portrait of Russian culture that transcended geographical boundaries.

The palpable warmth from the Indian audience was nothing short of magical, extending a gracious welcome to the exceptionally talented performers from St. Petersburg. 🎉

The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, Government of India, alongside Vladimir Knyaginin, St. Petersburg's Vice-Governor, and Denis Alipov, Russian Ambassador to India. 🌟🤝

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with TASS News Agency (Moscow, September 28, 2023)

Key talking points:

• When starting to circulate provocative rumours like this, the West is obviously testing us for willingness to accept its terms, and they are not particularly subtle about it. They want to take a break for a few months without signing any agreement except a temporary ceasefire in order to gain time and pump more weapons into Ukraine.

• They cannot reproach us for lack of good will. <...> We are ready to come to terms, taking into account the realities on the ground, and based on our well-known position. It is also imperative to take into account our security interests and prevent the creation of a hostile Nazi regime on our borders.

• Historically, geographically, and geopolitically, it is not possible to lose Russia in the sense of completely disregarding its interests in the South Caucasus. However, some leaders in Yerevan are expressing such hopes openly.

• We have never had a negative attitude toward the Georgian people. We genuinely love them, just like we love all the South Caucasus nations. <...> We saw that the current government in Tbilisi is interested in normalising relations, at least in the interests of ordinary citizens.

• We don’t have unfriendly athletes, citizens, or even countries. There are unfriendly governments that have temporarily come to power in some countries whose people have always had good and friendly relations with us.

💬 The homage paid in the Canadian Parliament on September 22 to 98-year old Bandera follower Yaroslav Gunko (Hunka), who volunteered to serve in the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, accompanied by a standing ovation from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the Speaker and members of the House of Commons, and Western diplomats who were invited to attend, including, characteristically, the German ambassador, continues to cause anger and condemnation even among Canada’s closest allies.

Canadian parliamentarians warmly applauded a war criminal who swore allegiance to Hitler and fought against Russians.

We consider Canada an extremely unfriendly state whose authorities have stained themselves by colluding with Nazism and betraying their own history.

💬 The very same countries of the collective West that were the loudest when proclaiming their democracy and that tried to lecture the rest of the world have without hesitation transitioned to total censorship in their desire to suppress all outbreaks of dissent. In violation of all international obligations, they literally eradicated the sources of alternative points of view from the information space their controlled.

They got rid of the Russian media and media resources and used every repressive trick in the book: from politically motivated bans on broadcasting and blocking websites to psychological pressure on journalists and their criminal prosecution.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greetings to the hosts, participants, and guests of the 6th BRICS+ International Festival of Theatre Schools

💬 I warmly welcome the hosts, participants, and guests of the 6th BRICS+ International Festival of Theatre Schools.

Your forum has established itself as a popular creative venue that provides students from different countries with the opportunity to exchange professional experience and learn each other’s theatrical traditions, as well as to make true friends and, of course, to showcase their art to broad audiences.

It is good to see that this project is becoming increasingly popular beyond the BRICS+ and is attracting new participants. This is a clear example of the fact that international humanitarian relations remain an important tool for strengthening an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding among nations. We will continue to encourage this expansion of cultural exchanges.

I am confident that the festival will become an outstanding event in the busy life of the capital and leave indelible impressions on numerous spectators.
