🔹 Since 2014, a new and ever-growing hotbed of extremism has emerged in Ukraine.
🔹 We are convinced that renouncing double standards and hidden agendas is critical for responding to the terrorist threat. Efforts to eradicate this absolute evil cannot be made hostage to momentary considerations and bloc-based approaches.
🔹 The global economy currently finds itself at the nexus of several major challenges. Many of them are geopolitical in nature or are exacerbated by international confrontation. In particular, this concerns the pressing topics on the agenda of the Indian Presidency: terrorism, drug trafficking and natural disasters.
🔹 The surge in terrorism has been largely attributable to Western interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states. Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan suffered from armed ventures and neo-colonial aspirations, which undermined their statehood, with terrorist groups on the loose, the growing threat of drug trafficking, impoverishment of the people and the deterioration of human rights.
🔹 Over the past years, Russia helped more than 110 countries, primarily in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, to overcome natural disasters. We also provided over $270 million to international humanitarian structures to this effect.
🔹 The rapid development of ICT and the accelerating pace of digital transformation create substantial risks. Russia was the first country to suggest drafting an international convention on fighting cybercrime within the UN. In 2019, Russia initiated and co-sponsored with 47 other countries a UN General Assembly resolution to launch the relevant negotiating process, which is now entering a practical phase.

⚡️ On the Istanbul food and fertiliser agreements
There are mounting speculations on further developments as the expiration date of the second 120-day term of the Black Sea Initiative on exporting Ukrainian grain draws nearer. At Kiev and Washington’s instigation, it is being insinuated that the initiative should be both preserved in its existing parameters (the three ports – Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny – for 120 days with the possibility of another 120-day extension, if none of the three parties – Russia, Türkiye or Ukraine – have any objections) and expanded in terms of time and space (for one year with the addition of more seaports). This is being accompanied by clumsy attempts to invoke UN efforts to ensure global food security.
In this connection, a reminder of the UN Secretary-General’s grain deal concept in general and of how the Istanbul Agreements of July 22, 2022 were signed in particular, is in order. As is common knowledge, Antonio Guterres suggested a package deal to normalise food and fertiliser supplies from Russia and Ukraine as a response to the worsening food crisis against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic, uncontrolled Western money printing, and an accelerated transition to the green economy. This suggestion was formalised in Istanbul on July 22, 2022, in the form of the simultaneous signing of two mutually complementary agreements – the above-mentioned Black Sea Initiative and the Russia-UN Memorandum on promoting Russian agricultural products.
Their synchronised and interconnected implementation is designed to reduce the threat of hunger and provide assistance to needy countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
☝️ But in practice, eight months after the signing, just one part of the package – the exportation of Ukrainian food – is being implemented. Moreover, the mode of its implementation is far from the announced humanitarian aims. <...>
Progress in implementing the Russia-UN Memorandum on promoting Russian agricultural exports is tending towards zero. The reason is the West’s stubborn unwillingness to recognise the second part of the Guterres package and their continued application of sanctions, which, despite all the empty declarations by Washington, Brussels and London, still extend to food and fertilisers. In fact, UN officials are trying to lift restrictions on Russian agricultural products; these restrictions must be null and void in a situation where global food security is at stake. But the UN efforts are futile. <...>
Thus, we have to state that the package of agreements proposed by Antonio Guterres and signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022 is not working. The main problem is that the Western countries are sabotaging the implementation of the Russia-UN Memorandum. As is obvious, the Americans and Europeans are totally unconcerned with either the needs of destitute countries or the efforts of the United Nations, which they have long and persistently attempted to turn into an obedient tool for serving their political interests.
❗️ It is high time they stopped playing the food card. The lion’s share of Ukrainian grain is sold at dumping prices for fodder in the EU rather than in the poorest countries. At the same time, they openly put obstacles in the way of Russian agricultural exports, no matter what the Europeans and Americans say to the contrary. After all, they are not strangers to telling lies.
☝️ The West is shamelessly burying the humanitarian package initiated by the UN Secretary-General.

❓: Dear Ambassador, how would you comment on the administration's decision to allocate another "package" of military aid to the Kiev regime?
💬Anatoly Antonov: All of Washington's efforts aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on us are doomed to fail. The Russian Federation is making strong progress in achieving its goals. Our troops are defending the Fatherland from an unprecedented threat, suppressing the Nazis raised in Ukraine by the collective West led by the United States.
‼️ With every further batch of American weapons Kiev criminals increasingly feel their license. Inspired by the support of the United States, they engage in inhumane actions such as the terrorist attack in the Bryansk region. Washington stands behind those who shot peaceful civilians and therefore bears responsibility for these atrocities. The blood of the victims is already on the hands of the US.
The more actively the administration helps Kiev, the more often the Ukrainian regime will resort to terrorist tactics, aiming NATO guns at women, the elderly, and children. Russia will continue to harshly suppress any attempts to attack the civilian population. We will not be intimidated.
☝️The American support will prolong the agony of the Kiev regime. The threat it poses will be pushed back to the necessary distance from our borders, and all foreign weapons that fall into Ukrainian hands will be ground to dust and destroyed.

We regard the sanctions imposed by the US administration on March 3 against a number of Russian officials under the pretext of their alleged involvement in the violation of Vladimir Kara-Murza's rights as interference in the internal affairs of our country in order to obstruct justice.
We remind that Mr. Kara-Murza is accused of serious crimes: high treason, dissemination of deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as cooperation with an undesirable organization in Russia, which are subject to criminal punishment.
The obsession with which anti-Russian restrictions are stamped here reflects the powerless rage of the U.S. ruling circles due to the inability to force us to obey their will.
Instead of waving a sanctions club, it's time for the United States authorities to get in touch with reality and pay attention to the deplorable domestic situation in the field of human rights and freedoms.

Оккупация города гитлеровцами длилась 17 месяцев, с 14 октября 1941 года. Нацисты проводили политику геноцида, отправляли жителей в концентрационные лагеря, массово угоняли их на принудительные работы в Германию. Уничтожались промышленные предприятия, учебные, медицинские и детские учреждения.
⚔️ Бои подо Ржевом, который немцы называли "краеугольным камнем Восточного фронта", были одними из самых ожесточённых в ходе Великой Отечественной войны. Ржев и Ржевский выступ были превращены вражескими силами в сильно укреплённый район, что сильно затрудняло штурм города нашими войсками. Попытки освободить Ржев предпринимались с января 1942 года.
2 марта 1943 года Красная Армия начала решительный штурм и на следующий день Ржев был полностью освобождён. В разрушенном до основания городе, где до войны проживало 56 тысяч человек, оставалось всего 362 жителя.
Благодаря усилиям советских солдат, более года сражавшихся подо Ржевом с немецко-фашистскими захватчиками, были сорваны планы врага по передислокации соединений под Сталинград, где разворачивалась решающая битва Великой Отечественной войны, а также ликвидирована угроза повторного наступления на Москву. В боях на ржевском направлении гитлеровская армия потеряла наиболее боеспособные на Восточном фронте дивизии.
⭐️ За мужество, стойкость и массовый героизм, проявленные защитниками города в борьбе за свободу и независимость Отечества указом президента Ржеву в 2007 году присвоили почётное звание "Город воинской славы".
🕯 30 июня 2020 года недалеко от Ржева был открыт мемориал Советскому солдату, который увековечил память о подвиге героев, мужественно сражавшихся и павших на ржевской земле.
👉 К 80-летию со дня освобождения Ржева Минобороны России запустило новый мультимедийный историко-познавательный раздел «На ржевском рубеже славы».

🗓 Today marks the 8️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the liberation of Rzhev from the Nazi invaders.
The German occupation started on October 14, 1941 and lasted 17 months. The Nazis pursued a policy of genocide, incarcerated Rzhev residents in concentration camps and hauled them off en masse as forced labourers to Germany. They destroyed industrial enterprises, educational, medical institutions and schools.
⚔️ The enemy turned Rzhev and the Rzhev Ledge into a heavily fortified stronghold, which made assaulting it a daunting challenge for Soviet soldiers. Attempts to liberate Rzhev continued since January 1942.
On March 2, 1943, the Red Army launched a decisive assault, and Rzhev was completely liberated the next day. The city was leveled to the ground as a result of the occupation, with only 362 people remaining out of the 56,000 residents of pre-war Rzhev.
As a result of the efforts of Soviet soldiers who fought the Nazi invaders outside Rzhev for more than a year, the enemy’s plans to redeploy formations to Stalingrad, where the decisive battle of the Great Patriotic War was unfolding, were thwarted, and the threat of a repeated offensive towards Moscow was eliminated.
⭐️ For the courage, resilience and mass heroism shown by the defenders of the city in the fight for freedom and independence of the Fatherland, in 2007 Rzhev was awarded the honorary title 'City of Military Glory'.
🕯 On June 30, 2020, the Memorial to the Soviet Soldier was unveiled near Rzhev, immortalising the deeds of the heroes who bravely fought and gave their lives in the battles for Rzhev.

📅 1-2 марта Министр иностранных дел Российской Федерации С.В.Лавров принял участие в СМИД «Группы двадцати» в Нью-Дели.
Расцениваем «двадцатку» в качестве ключевого форума глобального управления, крупной репрезентативной площадки для обсуждения широкого круга социально-экономических проблем. Убеждены, что данное объединение должно играть существенную роль в формировании полицентричной мирохозяйственной системы. <...>
В выступлении С.В.Лаврова раскрыты принципиальные российские подходы к наращиванию международного сотрудничества на равноправной основе и с опорой на Устав ООН, без «двойных стандартов» и волюнтаристских «правил». Подчёркнута значимость конструктивного и деполитизированного функционирования «Группы двадцати», преодоления конфронтационных настроений, усиления позиций стран с формирующимися рынками на данной площадке. Министр напомнил, что Россия в числе первых позитивно отреагировала на заявку Афросоюза на членство в «двадцатке».
☝️ В связи с этим С.В.Лавров указал на нелегитимность односторонних санкций, любых форм дискриминации в области поставок продовольствия и удобрений, недобросовестной конкуренции путем установления «ценовых потолков» и других попыток присвоения чужих природных ресурсов.

«Группа двадцати» смогла прийти к консенсусу практически по большинству тематических вопросов индийского председательства. <...> Тем не менее, итоговый коллективный документ так и не был согласован. Виной тому стали безапелляционные требования США, ЕС и других отразить субъективные взгляды на раскрученный геополитический кризис вокруг Украины. Сожалеем о том, что западники продолжают держать «двадцатку» в заложниках своей конфронтационной линии.
Министром отмечен беспрецедентный характер диверсии с подрывом газопроводов системы «Северный поток», требующий беспристрастного расследования с российским участием.

В выступлении С.В.Лаврова раскрыты принципиальные российские подходы к наращиванию международного сотрудничества на равноправной основе и с опорой на Устав ООН, без «двойных стандартов» и волюнтаристских «правил». Подчёркнута значимость конструктивного и деполитизированного функционирования «Группы двадцати», преодоления конфронтационных настроений, усиления позиций стран с формирующимися рынками на данной площадке. Министр напомнил, что Россия в числе первых позитивно отреагировала на заявку Афросоюза на членство в «двадцатке».
☝️ В связи с этим С.В.Лавров указал на нелегитимность односторонних санкций, любых форм дискриминации в области поставок продовольствия и удобрений, недобросовестной конкуренции путем установления «ценовых потолков» и других попыток присвоения чужих природных ресурсов.

«Группа двадцати» смогла прийти к консенсусу практически по большинству тематических вопросов индийского председательства. <...> Тем не менее, итоговый коллективный документ так и не был согласован. Виной тому стали безапелляционные требования США, ЕС и других отразить субъективные взгляды на раскрученный геополитический кризис вокруг Украины. Сожалеем о том, что западники продолжают держать «двадцатку» в заложниках своей конфронтационной линии.
Министром отмечен беспрецедентный характер диверсии с подрывом газопроводов системы «Северный поток», требующий беспристрастного расследования с российским участием.

⚡️ Вчера, 2 марта, в двух приграничных селах Брянской области России украинские диверсанты совершили возмутительный террористический акт, который мы решительно осуждаем. Террористы проникли на российскую территорию, убили двух мирных жителей и тяжело ранили 11-летнего мальчика.
Украинские официальные лица неоднократно признавали, что все их действия осуществляются с одобрения и при поддержке США и других стран НАТО. Убийства в Брянской области были совершены из натовского оружия. В этой связи возникает закономерный вопрос о квалификации этих государств в качестве соучастников таких преступлений и спонсоров терроризма.
Российские следственные органы приступили к расследованию. Данное преступление не останется безнаказанным.

📅 26 февраля исполнилось девять лет с начала «Крымской весны», кульминацией которой стал референдум и последующее возвращение полуострова в состав России.
Отправной точкой тех исторических событий стал срежиссированный Западом антиконституционный вооружённый госпереворот в Киеве. Его движущей силой были национал-радикалы, не скрывавшие агрессивных антироссийских устремлений.
На референдуме 16 марта 2014 года жители Крыма практически единогласно высказались за его возвращение в родную гавань. Вопрос о российской принадлежности полуострова был решён раз и навсегда.
❗️ Сегодня киевский режим продолжает планировать военный захват Крыма и нанесение по нему ударов, нисколько не волнуясь о жизнях российских мирных граждан.
👉 На фоне агрессивных заявлений украинского руководства в отношении Крыма в СМИ появилась информация, что киевские власти рассматривают возможность поставить граждан России и Белоруссии, находящихся на Украине, перед выбором: воевать в составе ВСУ или быть депортированными. Очевидно, что рано или поздно этот вопрос должен был возникнуть. Думаем, трезвомыслящим россиянам и белорусам на Украине это было также понятно.
Готовы принять всех жертв киевского режима в России.

📅 On March 1-2, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi.
We consider the G20 to be a key global governance forum and a major representative platform for discussing a wide range of socioeconomic issues. We are confident that this association must play a significant role in building a polycentric global economic system. <...>
In his remarks, Sergey Lavrov expanded on Russia’s principled approaches to building up international cooperation based on equality and the UN Charter, without double standards or arbitrary rules. He stressed the value of the G20’s constructive and de-politicised efforts, overcoming confrontational sentiments, and the strengthening of emerging markets' position on this platform. The minister pointed out that Russia was among the first countries to positively respond to the African Union’s application to become a member of the G20.
☝️ In this context, Sergey Lavrov noted the illegitimacy of unilateral sanctions, any forms of discrimination when it comes to food and fertiliser supplies, dishonest competition by establishing price caps and other attempts to appropriate other countries’ natural resources.

The G20 succeeded in reaching consensus on the majority of the issues raised by the Indian presidency. <...> However, the parties failed to approve the final collective document, due the United States, the EU and other parties dogmatically demanding that their subjective views concerning the widely promoted geopolitical crisis around Ukraine be reflected in the document. It is regrettable that the Western countries continue to hold the G20 hostage to its confrontational course.
The minister noted the unprecedented nature of the sabotage at the Nord Stream gas pipeline system that requires an impartial investigation with Russia’s involvement.
🤝 On the sidelines of the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Mr Lavrov had multiple bilateral contacts with his colleagues from the G20.
