⚠️ Как я уже сказал, Запад развернул против нас не только военный, информационный, но и экономический фронт. Но нигде ничего не добился и не добьётся.

☝️Более того, инициаторы санкций наказывают сами себя: спровоцировали в собственных странах рост цен, потерю рабочих мест, закрытие предприятий, энергетический кризис, а своим гражданам говорят – мы это слышим, – говорят, что виноваты во всём русские.

Какие средства использовались против нас в этой санкционной агрессии? Попытались разорвать хозяйственные связи с российскими компаниями, отключить финансовую систему от каналов коммуникаций, чтобы смять нашу экономику, лишить нас доступа к экспортным рынкам, чтобы ударить по доходам. Это и воровство – по-другому не сказать – наших валютных резервов, попытки обвалить рубль и спровоцировать разрушительную инфляцию.

Повторю, антироссийские санкции – это лишь средство. А цель, как декларируют сами западные руководители, – прямая цитата – «заставить страдать» наших граждан. «Заставить страдать» – такие гуманисты. Они хотят заставить народ страдать, тем самым дестабилизировать наше общество изнутри.

❗️Но их расчёт не оправдался – российская экономика и система управления оказались гораздо прочнее, чем полагали на Западе.

⚠️The West has opened not only military and informational warfare against us, but is also seeking to fight us on the economic front. However, they have not succeeded on any of these fronts, and never will.

☝️Moreover, those who initiated the sanctions are punishing themselves: they sent prices soaring in their own countries, destroyed jobs, forced companies to close, and caused an energy crisis, while telling their people that the Russians were to blame for all of this. We hear that.

What means did they use against us in their efforts to attack us with sanctions? They tried disrupting economic ties with Russian companies and depriving the financial system of its communication channels to shutter our economy, isolate us from export markets and thus undermine our revenues. They also stole our foreign exchange reserves, to call a spade a spade, tried to depreciate the ruble and drive inflation to destructive heights.

Let me reiterate that the sanctions against Russia are merely a means, while the aim as declared by the Western leaders, to quote them, is to make us suffer. “Make them suffer” – what a humane attitude. They want to make our people suffer, which is designed to destabilise our society from within.

❗️However, their gamble failed to pay off. The Russian economy, as well as its governance model proved to be much more resilient than the West thought.

В начале февраля этого года прозвучало заявление Североатлантического альянса с фактическим требованием к России, как они выражаются, вернуться к выполнению договора о стратегических наступательных вооружениях, включая допуск инспекций на наши ядерные оборонные объекты. Но даже не знаю, как это назвать. Это театр абсурда какой-то.

☝️Нам известно, что Запад прямо причастен к попыткам киевского режима нанести удары по базам нашей стратегической авиации. Использованные для этого беспилотники были оснащены и модернизированы при содействии натовских специалистов. И вот теперь они хотят ещё и осматривать наши оборонные объекты? В современных условиях сегодняшнего противостояния это звучит как какой-то бред просто.

⁉️При этом – обращаю на это особое внимание – нам проводить полноценные инспекции в рамках этого договора не дают. Хочу подчеркнуть: США и НАТО прямо говорят о том, что их цель – нанести стратегическое поражение России. И что, после этого они как ни в чём не бывало собираются разъезжать по нашим оборонным объектам, в том числе новейшим? Неделю назад, например, мною подписан Указ о постановке на боевое дежурство новых стратегических комплексов наземного базирования. Они и туда собираются сунуть свой нос? И думают, что так просто – мы их туда пускать будем просто так?

Действующий Договор 2010 года содержит важнейшие положения о неделимости безопасности, о прямой взаимосвязи вопросов стратегических наступательных и оборонительных вооружений. Всё это давно забыто, США вышли из Договора по ПРО, как известно, всё осталось в прошлом. Наши отношения, что очень важно, деградировали, и это целиком «заслуга» Соединённых Штатов.

Теперь через представителей НАТО подают сигналы, а по сути выдвигают, ультиматум: вы, Россия, выполняйте всё, о чём договорились, в том числе Договор об СНВ, беспрекословно, а мы будем вести себя, как заблагорассудится. Мол, нет никакой связи между проблематикой СНВ и, скажем, конфликтом на Украине, другими враждебными действиями Запада в отношении нашей страны, как и нет громогласных заявлений, что они хотят нанести нам стратегическое поражение. Это или верх лицемерия и цинизма, или верх глупости, но идиотами их не назовёшь – они всё-таки неглупые люди. Нам стратегическое поражение хотят нанести и лезут на наши ядерные объекты.

‼️В этой связи вынужден заявить сегодня о том, что Россия приостанавливает своё участие в Договоре о стратегических наступательных вооружениях. Повторю, не выходит из Договора, нет, а именно приостанавливает своё участие.

In early February, the North Atlantic alliance made a statement with actual demand to Russia, as they put it, to return to the implementation of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, including admission of inspections to our nuclear defence facilities. I don’t even know what to call this. It is a kind of a theatre of the absurd.

☝️We know that the West is directly involved in the Kiev regime’s attempts to strike at our strategic aviation bases. The drones used for this purpose were equipped and updated with the assistance of NATO specialists. And now they also want to inspect our defence facilities? In the current conditions of confrontation, it simply sounds insane.

⁉️I would like to draw your attention specifically to the fact that they are not letting us conduct full-scale inspections under this treaty. I would like to stress that the United States and NATO are openly saying that their goal is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. And what, after such statements they are supposed to tour our defence facilities, including the latest ones, as if nothing happened? A week ago, I signed an executive order putting new land-based strategic systems on combat duty. Are they going to poke their nose there as well? Do they think we will let them go there just because?

The Treaty of 2010 that is in force contains critically important provisions about indivisible security and the direct link between strategic offensive and defensive arms. All of that has long been forgotten. The United States withdrew from the ABM Treaty. It is now a thing of the past. Importantly, our relations have degraded which can be credited entirely to the United States.

Now, they are using NATO to give us signals, which, in fact, is an ultimatum whereby Russia should, no questions asked, implement everything that it agreed to, including the New START Treaty, whereas they will do as they please. As if there is no connection between strategic offensive weapons and, say, the conflict in Ukraine or other hostile Western actions against our country. As if there are no vociferous claims about them seeking to inflict a strategic defeat on us. This is either the height of hypocrisy and cynicism, or the height of stupidity, but they are not idiots. They are not stupid after all. They want to inflict a strategic defeat on us and also to get to our nuclear sites.

‼️In this regard, I am compelled to announce today that Russia is suspending its membership in the New START Treaty. To reiterate, we are not withdrawing from the Treaty, but rather suspending our participation.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry statement in connection with the Russian Federation suspending the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (#NewSTART)

❗️ The Russian Federation found itself in a radically new security environment resulting from Washington’s extreme hostility and efforts to stir up confrontation, as well as its overt commitment to promoting a malicious escalation of the conflict in and around Ukraine.

The United States is now openly seeking to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, while tensions encouraged by Washington go far beyond the Ukraine crisis with the United States and the US-led West trying to harm our country at every possible level, in every sphere and region of the world.

There is every reason to argue that the United States policy aims to undermine Russia’s national security, which directly contradicts the fundamental principles and understandings set forth in the New START’s preamble and forming its foundation. It would not have been signed without stating these principles.

This de facto amounts to a fundamental change of circumstances compared to those prevailing at the time of signing the New START Treaty.

In this situation, it is no longer possible to maintain business as usual with the United States and the West in general, both as a matter of principle and regarding arms control, which is inseparable from the geopolitical, military and strategic reality.

⚠️ The fact that Western countries coalesced around the anti-Russia agenda increasingly impacts their nuclear policy, which constitutes a serious shift in the security landscape. In particular, NATO members have been carrying out the so-called Joint Nuclear Operations for decades, and designated the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation as a “nuclear alliance” at a certain point, while also placing a bigger emphasis on nuclear weapons in NATO’s conceptual documents and stating their commitment to further strengthening and improving the combat readiness of the relevant capabilities that are under NATO control.

Taking all these circumstances into account, Russia has come to the conclusion that the United States has seriously violated the New START Treaty and that this violation is of fundamental importance for the realisation of the treaty’s objective and goals.

The decision to suspend the New START Treaty can be reversed if Washington demonstrates the political will and takes honest efforts towards general de-escalation and the creation of conditions for resuming the comprehensive operation of the treaty and, consequently, its survival. This is exactly what we urge the American party to do.

☝️ Until then, any steps to accommodate Washington with regard to New START are absolutely out of the question.

💬А.А.Леденев: Очевидно намерение США отвлечь внимание членов ОАГ от накопившихся в Западном полушарии насущных проблем. «Модераторы» вашингтонской площадки игнорируют призывы ряда регионалов воздерживаться от внедрения в повестку дня непрофильного для межамериканской структуры кризиса евробезопасности. Показателен даже набор тем сегодняшнего заседания: ситуация на Украине, финансовые проблемы Организации и кризис на Гаити.

👉К слову, Вашингтон не обращает внимания на обеспокоенность членов ОАГ разгулом преступных банд в карибской республике. Страны региона неоднократно поднимали тему контрабанды оружия из США в островное государство. Для администрации - все «как с гуся вода». Это при том, что по данным самой американской «фемиды», организация убийства президента Ж.Моиза (июль 2021 г.) велась с территории Флориды.

☝️«В тени» дискуссий сегодня оказалась и другая острая тема, обозначенная на заседании, - системные финтрудности ОАГ. Глава секретариата по финансовым и административным вопросам давал понять, что денег в бюджете едва хватает на зарплаты сотрудникам. Генсек, в отношении которого ведется внутреннее расследование, в заседаниях участвовать и вовсе перестал. Американцы и канадцы же предпочли фокусировать обсуждения на Украине. Назревает вопрос, не настало ли время навести порядок внутри Организации?

❓: How could you comment on today’s discussions on the Ukraine crisis at the Organization of American States?

💬Andrey Ledenev: There is a clear intention by the US to divert attention of the OAS member states away from the pressing problems of the Western Hemisphere. American “moderators” of this forum ignore appeals by a number of member states that urge to refrain from introducing the crisis of European security into the agenda of the Inter-American Organization, where it doesn’t belong. Quite telling in this regard was the agenda of today’s session, which simultaneously included the situation in Ukraine, financial problems of the OAS and the Haiti crisis.

👉It looks like Washington doesn’t pay attention to the concerns of the OAS member states about gangs of criminals raging in the Caribbean republic. Countries of the region have time and again tried to discuss the issue of illegal trafficking of arms from the US to the island nation. But to the administration it is like water off a duck's back. Despite the fact that, according to the American judiciary, assassination of President Moise (July 2021) was coordinated from the territory of Florida.

☝️Yet another pressing topic that found itself in the shadows of today’s session, - the financial difficulties of the OAS. The Secretary of Administration and Finance of the Organization made clear that there is hardly enough cash in the budget to pay out salaries to the staff. The Secretary General, who is under internal investigation, doesn’t even participate in the sessions any more. Americans and Canadians prefer to focus the discussions on Ukraine. The question arises: maybe it’s time to put things in order inside the Organization?

⚡️ According to the information available, the Kiev regime is plotting an armed provocation against the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the near future, which will be carried out by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including those involving the Azov nationalist formation.

◽️ A staged attack by allegedly Russian forces from Transnistrian territory will be used as the pretext for the invasion.

◽️ For this purpose, the Ukrainian saboteurs involved in the staged invasion will be disguised as military personnel of the Russian Federation.

◽️ The Russian Defence Ministry is closely monitoring the situation on Ukraine's border with the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and is ready to respond to any changes in the situation.

This national holiday epitomises the heroic history of our Army and Navy and the unbreakable link connecting all generations of defenders of the Fatherland. It embodies our deep gratitude to the faithful sons and daughters of the Fatherland, to all those who did not spare themselves as they fought the enemy defending their native land and their people, underwent trials with honour and emerged as a victor, and who crushed foreign invasions. So it was at Lake Chudskoye and on Kulikovo Field, near Poltava and Borodino, and in the victorious May of 1945.

On this day, deep respect and the warmest words go to our dear veterans who defeated Nazism and upheld the freedom and independence of the Motherland. Your feats during the Great Patriotic War will forever remain in the historical memory of our people as a vivid example of patriotism and courage and will serve as an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength. The current generation of Russian soldiers and officers preserves and enhances the military traditions of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings on this holiday to our military personnel, volunteers, mobilised citizens, and specialists in various professions who are participating in the special military operation. Our troops are heroically fighting the neo-Nazism that has taken root in Ukraine, protecting our people in our historical lands, and are fighting courageously and heroically.
