Ровно 2️⃣4️⃣0️⃣ лет назад, 19 апреля 1783 года, императрица Екатерина II издала Манифест о присоединении к Российской империи Крымского полуострова. Этот документ на века обеспечил для России надёжный выход к Чёрному морю и безопасность её южных регионов.
📈 После присоединения в регионе была ликвидирована процветавшая веками работорговля, заложены новые города, в том числе Севастополь, мощный импульс к развитию получили экономика и культура. Также были отменены внутренние торговые пошлины, что поспособствовало развитию крымского сельского хозяйства, промышленности и торговли, и бурному росту крымских городов.
🗝 Манифест, составленный императрицей Екатериной II и генерал-фельдмаршалом князем Г.А.Потёмкиным, хранился в строжайшей тайне в деревянном ящике, обитом железом. Императрица опасалась как новой войны с Турцией, так и вмешательства европейских стран. Только после того, как жители Крыма с помощью «присяжных листов» присягнули на верность России, манифест был обнародован.
☝️ Одну из ключевых ролей в процессе присоединения и развития Крымского полуострова сыграл Г.А.Потёмкин, назначенный Екатериной II на должность генерал-губернатора Новороссии. Современники отмечали, что за короткое время Потёмкину удалось превратить степи Крымского ханства в перспективный, динамично развивающийся регион Российской империи.

📈 After the accession, the Russian authorities banned slave trade, which had existed in the region for centuries, and built new cities, including Sevastopol. The economy and culture received a powerful impetus for development. Domestic trade duties were cancelled, which facilitated the progress of Crimean agriculture, industry and trade and a rapid growth of Crimean cities.
🗝 The Manifesto, which was written by Catherine the Great and General-Field Marshal Grigory Potemkin, was kept in great secrecy in a wooden box upholstered with iron. The Empress had apprehensions about a new war with Turkey and interference by European countries. The Manifesto was published only after the residents of Crimea swore allegiance to Russia by signing oath sheets.
☝️ Grigory Potemkin, who was appointed by Catherine the Great Governor-General of Novorossiya, played a key role in the accession and development of Crimea. His contemporaries noted that he managed to turn the steppes of the Crimean Khanate into a promising and flourishing region of the Russian Empire in a short span of time.

Key points:
🔹The United States uses a twisted logic. On the one hand, they refuse to engage with us on a business-as-usual basis. At the same time, they insist on returning to the regular cooperation on the issue of the New START Treaty verification regime. The U.S. military is clearly itching to get into Russian bases which store nuclear weapons.

🔹The cumulative nuclear capabilities of the NATO countries are growing in importance given the ability of the United States, Great Britain and France to deploy their arsenals against Russia in a coordinated manner. We cannot afford to ignore this factor when considering the future of the Treaty.
🔹White House official doctrines say nothing about the U.S.-Russia strategic stability dialogue.
⁉️What needs to be done to return to the Treaty's full-scale functioning? The answer is simple. The U.S. has to reconsider its hostile policy toward our country and abandon its course of escalating threats to Russia's national security. However, the White House has stated that Washington will not stop 'pouring oil on the fire' of the Ukrainian crisis.
☝️Apparently, resolving the Treaty issues is not a priority for the Administration. Nevertheless, Russia will not follow the American example. We remain committed to a responsible approach to strategic stability. We intend to voluntarily adhere to the central quantitative limits on strategic offensive arms stipulated in the Treaty. In addition, we will continue to participate in the exchange of notifications with the U.S. on ICBM and SLBM launches in accordance with the respective 1988 U.S.-Soviet agreement.

Russia says U.S. 'hostile policy' on Ukraine could kill last nuclear treaty
"The U.S. military is clearly itching to get into Russian bases which store nuclear weapons," Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov told Newsweek.
❓: Dear Ambassador, how could you comment on the situation with the non-issuance of visas for some members of the Russian delegation traveling to New York for the UN Security Council events, as well as to all accompanying journalists?
💬Anatoly Antonov: American behavior is outrageous. So far, permissions have not been issued to a number of members of the delegation and the journalists sent to the United States to accompany Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is participating in the UN Security Council events, chaired by Russia.
👉 This is an example of a blatant abuse by the United States of its position as the host country of the UN headquarters. This is not the first time that the U.S. administration has hindered our full participation in the work of the World Organization and the proper functioning of the international structure itself.
⁉️ Maybe the U.S. public, which is so fond of looking for the flaws in our country, should pay attention to the failure of the U.S. authorities to comply with basic international obligations and elementary norms of diplomatic practice? At least that would be fair.
⚡️We once again urge Washington to stop creating artificial obstacles and demand to issue entry permits to all participants declared by the Russian side without any delay.

🇷🇺🇳🇮 19 апреля состоялся визит С.В.Лаврова в Республику Никарагуа, в ходе которого прошли его переговоры с Президентом этой страны Д.Ортегой.
На встрече, прошедшей в традиционно доверительной атмосфере, в предметном ключе были обсуждены актуальные вопросы дальнейшего укрепления стратегического партнёрства между Россией и Никарагуа, ход реализации проектов двустороннего сотрудничества.
Значительное внимание было уделено совместным усилиям двух стран на международной арене в пользу активного построения более справедливого многополярного миропорядка, основанного на Уставе ООН, принципах суверенного равенства государств, недопустимости вмешательства в их внутренние дела.
Проведён заинтересованный обмен оценками развития ситуации в регионе Латинской Америки и Карибского бассейна.

Held by tradition in an atmosphere of trust, the talks focused on current issues related to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Nicaragua and on implementing bilateral cooperation projects.
The participants devoted much attention to both countries’ joint international efforts undertaken in order to usher in a more just multipolar world order based on the UN Charter, principles of sovereign equality of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs.
The Sides held a concerned exchange of assessments regarding the developments in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Героизация нацизма
⚠️ Заметной последовательностью отличаются усилия киевского режима по агрессивной пропаганде неонацизма, сопровождающейся переписыванием истории Великой Отечественной войны.
Насаждаются искажённые трактовки исторических событий, умаляющие роль и вклад СССР в победу над нацизмом.
Культивированию националистического настроя среди широких масс населения служат проводимая на Украине государственная политика и активные действия властей всех уровней по обелению и героизации нацизма, нацистских пособников времён Второй мировой войны и возвеличиванию различных формирований украинских коллаборационистов, сотрудничавших с гитлеровскими захватчиками в годы войны.
❗️Следует отметить, что под такую работу подверстана нормативная правовая база. В соответствии с этими документами:
• под запретом оказалась советская символика;
• осуждается коммунистический режим;
• открыты архивы советских спецслужб;
• запрещено публичное использование, ношение, демонстрация георгиевской ленты;
• признаны борцами за независимость бойцы украинских военных националистических формирований времён Второй мировой войны – Организации украинских националистов (ОУН) и Украинской повстанческой армии (УПА) и их руководители – лидер ОУН С.Бандера и служивший в вооружённых подразделениях Третьего рейха главнокомандующий УПА Р.Шухевич;
• введена уголовная ответственность за негативную оценку деятельности упомянутых структур.
В русле положений закона «О правовом статусе и чествовании памяти борцов за независимость Украины в XX веке» Львовский областной совет 30 января 2018 года принял решение об использовании флага ОУН-УПА наравне с государственным флагом Украины.
Аналогичные решения были приняты Волынским областным советом, городскими советами в Тернополе, Киеве и ряде других городов.

Glorification of Nazism
⚠️ The Kiev regime’s efforts to aggressively propagate neo-Nazism are paired with consistent efforts to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic War.
Distorted interpretations of historical events are being imposed on the people which belittle the role and contribution of the Soviet Union to the victory over Nazism.
The nationalist sentiments among the broad public are cultivated in Ukraine through state policy and vigorous efforts of the authorities of all levels to whitewash and glorify Nazism.
❗️ Notably, a regulatory framework has been created for this kind of activity. In accordance with these documents:
• Soviet symbols were outlawed;
• Communist authorities were condemned;
• archives of the Soviet security services were opened;
• public use, wearing or displaying the St George ribbon was prohibited;
• World War II Ukrainian military nationalist formations and their leaders – the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) (Stepan Bandera) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) (Roman Shukhevich) – were recognised as independence fighters. Commander-in-Chief Shukhevich served in the Third Reich’s Nachtigall Battalion, the 201st battalion of the Ukrainian Legion Schutzmannschaft;
• criminal liability was introduced for negative assessment of the activities of the above units.
On January 30, 2018, in line with the provisions of the law “On the legal status and honouring the memory of fighters for independence of Ukraine in the 20th century,” the Lvov Regional Council resolved to display the OUN-UPA flag along with the state flag of Ukraine.
Similar decisions were adopted by the Volyn Regional Council, city councils in Ternopol, Kiev and a number of other cities.
