🎄В Российском культурном центре в Вашингтоне состоялась традиционная рождественская встреча.
📅 27 декабря в гостях Русского дома побывали члены клуба «Друзья Российского культурного центра», дипломаты Посольства России в США, соотечественники, представители РПЦЗ, а также российские журналисты.
Мероприятие прошло в теплой, дружеской атмосфере с выступлением пианиста Ильдара Ханнанова и арфистки Ираиды Побережной. Были исполнены произведения великих композиторов из России и мелодии по мотивам известных российских песен. Детский музыкальный коллектив «Матрешки» из Свято-Иоанно-Предтеческого собора представил программу русских народных танцев.
🎵 Собравшиеся спели песню «White Christmas», которая была написана Ирвингом Берлингом, родившимся в Российской империи и широко известным в Соединенных Штатах.
🎁🎅 Маленькие гости получили сладкие подарки от Деда Мороза и Снегурочки.

⚡️Main Foreign Policy Outcomes of 2022⚡️
The year 2022 saw history-making events, such as the emergence of a new international reality, and became a turning point for Russia’s foreign policy.
👉 The recognition of the Donetsk & Lugansk People’s Republics, the start of the Special Military Operation in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, the referendums held in the DPR & LPR and the liberated territories of the Zaporozhye & Kherson regions and their subsequent integration into Russia – these events will forever go down in the history of Russia.
They put an end to 30 years of Russia’s honest attempts to develop equitable relations with the collective West.
✍️ Russia & other like-minded countries adopted a political declaration in support of the inviolability of the UN Charter.
✍️ An overwhelming majority of states members of the UN GA approved the annual Russia-initiated resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism.
✍️ At Russia’s initiative, the Joint Statement of the Leaders of the 5 Nuclear-Weapon States on Preventing Nuclear War & Avoiding Arms Races was adopted in January 2022.
✅ International cooperation within the framework of the #EAEU, #SCO & #BRICS made rapid headway.
✅ Allied relations with Belarus continued to grow stronger.
✅ Several major initiatives have been implemented within the framework of the #CIS aimed at strengthening integration ties in all spheres of the organisation’s activities.
✅ The mechanisms of the #CSTO operated efficiently.
Russian diplomats have significantly stepped up efforts to achieve the peaceful settlement of international conflicts. Russia extensively supported stabilising the situation in Afghanistan. Russia has promoted a complex approach to the Syrian dossier, including within the Astana format. We have promoted comprehensive normalisation of the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
We have successfully developed ties with our many international partners who are interested in maintaining a constructive dialogue with Russia.

Координация Москвы и Пекина на международной арене, в том числе в рамках Совета Безопасности ООН, Шанхайской организации сотрудничества, БРИКС, «Группы двадцати» служит формированию справедливого, основанного на международном праве миропорядка.
Мы с вами одинаково смотрим на причины, ход и логику происходящей трансформации глобального геополитического ландшафта, в условиях беспрецедентного давления и провокаций со стороны Запада отстаиваем принципиальные позиции и защищаем не только свои интересы, но и всех тех, кто выступает за подлинно демократичное мироустройство и право стран свободно определять свою судьбу.

💬 President Vladimir Putin: In the context of growing geopolitical tensions, the importance of the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership as a stability factor is growing. Our relations have passed all the tests, demonstrating their maturity and stability, and they continue to grow dynamically.
Despite the unfavourable external situation, the illegitimate restrictions and patent blackmail on the part of certain Western countries, Russia and China have achieved record high growth rates in mutual trade. In 2022, it increased by about 25 percent.
📈 Energy supplies have reached unprecedented levels, and joint projects are underway to add capacity in hydrocarbons production and refining. In 2022, Russia became one of the leaders in oil exports to China.
Of course, defence and military technology cooperation, which contributes to ensuring the security of our countries and maintaining stability in key regions, has a special place in the entire range of Russian-Chinese cooperation and our relations. We aim to strengthen cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and China.
🤝 Moscow and Beijing’s coordination on the international arena, including at the UN Security Council, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, BRICS, and the G20, serves to create a fair world order based on international law.

В уходящий год 220-летия МИД России рассказываем историю легендарной высотки на Смоленской площади.
Знаете ли Вы, что...
Здание МИД России − одна из семи знаменитых столичных «сталинских высоток», возведённых в 1940-1950-х годах. Их закладка состоялась одновременно 7 сентября 1947 года в день 800-летия Москвы.
Строительство здания началось ещё в 1931 году. Изначально территория, на которой стоит здание МИД России, была отдана под строительство гостиницы для приезжающих в Москву туристов. В дальнейшем строение было включено как крыло в проект административного здания Наркомата мясной и молочной промышленности. Проект так и не был реализован в связи с началом Великой Отечественной войны.
В январе 1947 года Советом Министров СССР было принято постановление о строительстве в Москве многоэтажных зданий, одним из которых стала и высотка на Смоленской площади.
В проектировании, осуществлявшемся мастерской «Горстройпроект», участвовали свыше ста архитекторов и конструкторов под руководством члена-корреспондента Академии архитектуры В.Г.Гельфрейха, архитектора М.А.Минкуса и главного конструктора Г.М.Лимановского.
В 1952 году строящееся высотное здание на Смоленской площади было передано в ведение Министерству иностранных дел и Министерству внешней торговли.
Первоначально утверждённый технический проект не имел шпиля, центральная часть здания венчалась прямоугольной башней с рядом сложных зубцов и обелисками по углам. В 1951 году было принято решение об установке шпиля по аналогии с возводимыми в этот же период другими высотками.
#ЭтоИнтересно: Итоговый вес шпиля составил 350 т, высота – 56 м. Из-за его хрупкости здание МИД является единственной сталинской высоткой, не увенчанной пятиконечной звездой.
