Todays issues and plights can often deter our minds from just how wonderful our planet really is.

Welcome, to an amazing world. ๐ŸŒŽ

On this day:

In 1806 Lord Horatio Nelson, naval commander and hero of the Battle of Trafalgar, was buried beneath the dome of St Paul's cathedral, in London, after a grand and solemn procession along the river to Whitehall and thence to the city.

Regularly regarded as one of Britain's finest naval commanders, Nelson heroically faced his death at the hand of French sharpshooter during the Battle of Trafalgar (21 October 1805) aboard his prised ship the HMS Victory. His signal just prior to the commencement of the battle "England expects that every man will do his duty" is often quoted and paraphrased with a great patriotic spirit.

His memory is firmly, and rightly so, ingrained into the psyche of the english and all who respect the lives of historymakers.

May his greatness not be forgotten.

In 1895, the National Trust (for places of historic interest or Natural Beauty) was founded by the social reformers: Octavia Hill, Sir Robert Hunter, and Clergyman Hardwicke Rawnsley

Its origins, however, lie in the Kyrle Society (named after John Kryle), which was formed in 1876 by Hill and her sister Miranda; alongside the conservational work provided by Hunter (the
renowned solicitor to the Commons Preservation society) and Rawnsley (a commited naturalist who had campainged for the protection of the lake district). United, these three passionate and resolute individuals went on to design and create one of the largest heritage sites in Britain; one which has guaranteed the survival of estates once victim to militant industrialisation and urbanisation: ensuring that the soil of Britain remains well protected and nurtured.

Conserving the rich past of Britain, for all its people to embellish and appreciate to the upmost degree.

Let's hope that it's stays true to its founding promise.

This MASSIVE #French flag is from a French War-Ship during the 'Battle of Trafalgar' (1805) where Lord #Nelson was killed. Comparing the flag with the ship truly highlights the magnitude of historic naval-warfare and just how unaware we are, of it's impressive, terrifying scale.
