ASEAN Specialists trained for biological safety in Vladivostok in March 2022
 
In 2022, Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) continues to cooperate with experts from specialized institutions of ASEAN in the field of prevention and control of infectious diseases under the umbrella of “Using Modern Molecular Genetic Technologies in Ensuring Biological Safety Complex Training of ASEAN Member States' Specialists” project. This project is currently being implemented with support from the ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership Financial Fund. This is part of the initiative proposed by the President of the Russian Federation at the 3rd Russia-ASEAN Summit held in Singapore in 2018.

👉 Secondly, on March 31, another evidence of a cynical provocation in Bucha was heard – a statement by Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk. “March 31 will go down in the history of our settlement and the entire territorial community as the day of liberation from Russian orcs, Russian occupiers of our settlements by our Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the mayor said with a joyful smile on his face.

❓ Would he rejoice if dozens of his countrymen at that time were lying on the streets shot? Why does he say nothing in his statement about the atrocities of the Russian executioners? About torture, rape and murder?

👉 Moreover, the first unit of the Ukrainian armed forces to enter Bucha was the special forces of the National Guard of Ukraine. The official telegram channel of the National Guard posted a video, filmed by the fighters of this detachment themselves. We can see on this video that the Ukrainian military calmly pass through the streets of the city – and no “mountains of corpses” are visible on these streets.

❓So where did the corpses on the streets of Bucha come from - and who are these people?

👉 The answer may lie in the video of the territorial defense of Ukraine, which clearly states the question “Can I shoot at them if there are no blue armbands?” to which a positive answer follows. The video was originally posted by the leader of the territorial defense Sergey “Botsman” Korotkikh.

👉 By the way, on the videos distributed by the Ukrainian side, almost all the corpses have white bandages. This is a distinctive sign of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the civilian population.

Fake:
A young Ukrainian girl was murdered in Bucha. Her photo and obituary spread across the net. "Raped and murdered by Russians just because they are Ukrainians," the caption says.

Reality:
The girl in the photo is named Anastasia Savchishina and she is alive and well. She organized this photo shoot with herself in the main role.
As she explained on her Facebook page, she arranged this performance for "foreigners to understand what the situation in Ukraine is like now." Anastasia's followers reacted to her prank mostly in a negative way.
A photo shoot with the "dead girl from Bucha" was published by Radio Liberty correspondent Lidia Guzhva. The publication caused a great resonance, but in the end it turned out to be a fake.

🚛Russian servicemen provided another handover of humanitarian aid to the civilian population.

▫️More than 10 tonnes of food and basic necessities delivered from the Russian Federation were distributed to residents of Kherson.

▫️Every day, hundreds of civilians in Kherson come to the food distribution points.

▫️Women and children, as well as the elderly and disabled, are the first to recieve of aid from Russia.

On the 20th Meeting of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Cooperation Committee

The 20th Meeting of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Cooperation Committee (ARJCC) took place via videoconference on 29 March 2022. Representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat and a number of Russian line agencies also took part in the meeting.

The ARJCC meeting was focused on the implementation of the decisions of the 4th ASEAN-Russia Summit in October 2021 and the Comprehensive Plan of Action to Implement ASEAN and the Russian Federation Strategic Partnership (2021-2025).

The participants discussed the ways to deepen cooperation on political and security issues, disaster management, ICT security, infectious diseases, tourism and in many other areas. Both Sides highlighted the successful conducting of the first ASEAN-Russia Naval Exercise in December 2021 and expressed readiness to promote further the Consultations of High Representatives Responsible for Security Issues and the ASEAN-Russia Dialogue on ICT security-related issues.

A special significance was attached to the launch of the joint Year of Scientific and Technological Cooperation on 14 February 2022 that is expected to give a greater impetus to the ASEAN-Russia cooperation in science and innovations. Its extensive programme includes conferences, workshops, study tours, business dialogues on such topics like education, energy, medicine, smart cities, molecular technologies and nuclear applications, digitalization, climate change, etc.

ASEAN commended the practical results of the Pandemic Prevention Training Courses for specialists from the ASEAN Member States started in Vladivostok in 2019. Another round of seminars took place in March 2022. The Meeting took stock of interim outcomes of the number of projects on sustainable agriculture. The Meeting agreed on increasing mutually beneficial project activities. The Russian participants made presentations on new joint projects covering environment and post-pandemic economic recovery. Myanmar and the Philippines briefed on their initiatives in the field of science and technologies. The facilitation of the Singaporean project on use of social media to promote tourism in Russia and ASEAN was also discussed.

As a follow-up to the ministerial meeting on tourism the ARJCC underlined the importance of promoting people-to-people contact beneficial to the advancement of the ASEAN-Russia cooperation. In particular the ASEAN-Russian Federation Tourism Cooperation Work Plan 2022-2024 will contribute to it. The Meeting determined modalities of collaboration between Higher Education Institutions in ASEAN and Russia. In this regard, the Meeting highly appreciated the activities of the ASEAN Center in MGIMO University aimed at deepening socio-cultural and scientific cooperation between ASEAN Member States and Russia.

🇷🇺Russian and DPR servicemen evacuate civilians from Mariupol districts that remain in the area of possible shelling by Ukrainian nationalists

▫️During the day, more than 80 residents, including 14 children, were evacuated from the basements of residential buildings near the contact line.

▫️IFV-1 infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers were used to safely evacuate civilians from under AFU fire.

▫️The movements of the evacuation units were camouflaged with smoke.

▫️All people were taken to safe locations. The inhabitants affected by the shelling were provided with qualified medical assistance by Russian servicemen, including at the medical unit of the special-purpose medical unit.

💬 This is a major shift in the policy of the EU and the entire West under the leadership of the US (there is no doubt about that) that occurred after the start of our special military operation. 🔹 The report published by the Russian Ministry of Defence today clearly proves that Washington, in close coordination with its NATO partners, has reached the final stage of setting up provocations in Ukraine aimed at convincing the international community that “Russia has been using weapons-grade poisonous substances and biological agents.”

🔹 Their rationale is obvious: the shocking details of the illegal cooperation between the United States and the Ukrainian administration which still remains in power in making bacteriological weapons have been revealed to the world. The realisation that their criminal activities would inevitably be exposed was so patently clear that Washington began to prepare in advance:

👉 Shaped public opinion
👉 Picked the contractors
👉 Worked to influence international organisations

🔹 The Americans and their partners in Europe take no notice of the fact that Russia has had no chemical weapons at all for five years – since September 27, 2017, and this has been verified by the OPCW. The Ukrainians, aided by NATO specialists, are to remedy this flaw in the American plans crudely enough: just as corrupt police officers plant a weapon with prints on an innocent suspect, Washington and Kiev are going to plant chemical weapons at the Russian Armed Forces’ positions in Ukraine.

👉 This is more than serious. Clearly, the original US plan was to step up economic pressure on Russia to make it reconsider its legitimate security interests. That didn’t work. Now the US is going to use WMD; in fact, this is a game that crosses the red line. If this happens, the number of victims will be incalculable. Mechanisms for information attacks with a new thesis that target the public space have been launched in the West at the highest level in a transboundary and trans-format manner. The premise is primitive and completely horrifying: the Russians are threatening a nuclear war, and the Russians are waving the nuclear stick.

⁉️ Do I even need to say that this thesis is absolutely incorrect and false? Apparently, I do.

They are pushing this exact thesis because it plays on basic human fears, the experience of the older generation, which throughout the second half of the 20th century was bracing for the Third World War against global communism, and Western youth, for which their respective governments have come up with a new mechanism called “cancel culture” (cancelling everything Russian this time). Moreover, the West absolutely does not care what Moscow really says, and the meaning of words is distorted and outwardly perverted.

Let’s consider the specifics.

Two days ago, in his answer to a question by Dimitri Simes during an interview, Sergey Lavrov said literally the following 👉 full quote

What are the takeaways?

1. It was Russia that, with great difficulty, convinced the United States during lengthy talks to reaffirm the Gorbachev-Reagan formula that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.

2. It was Russia that persuaded the group of five nuclear nations to adopt a statement with the same content.

3. There are risks; they should not be blown out of proportion or underestimated.

We did everything possible to prevent a nuclear war, to create all the necessary obstacles on the way to slipping into this scenario (fortunately, they justified themselves during the Cold War and are working today), because we understand the real risks and threats posed by irresponsible behaviour in this area. We cannot allow the very thought of a nuclear war.

Now acting in the worst traditions of disinformation, Western officials are feeding the media, in a coordinated effort, fake news about Moscow’s alleged nuclear threats. The foreign ministries from the NATO countries started convincing the people in their countries that the Russians were “rattling their weapons.”

Notice how clumsy this was in terms of media work. First, all the put-up quotes against our country were repeated by the journalist, and then they were again mentioned by Ned Price. A presentation designed for a not too sophisticated public. No one even paid attention to what the Foreign Minister said about the risks and Russia’s attempts to prevent the unthinkable.

It’s unthinkable to us, but, mindful of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it is, unfortunately, possible for our colleagues from overseas.

The next day, the media started mass brainwashing. The British tabloids (the Daily Mail and others) and the high-quality analytical US press, French television and German tabloid magazines started talking with one voice that Moscow was threatening with a Third World Nuclear War. And this was already being discussed in Europe; French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that the Russian Foreign Minister’s words were the “rhetoric of intimidation.”

I would like to ask this Frenchman whether he at least saw what Sergey Lavrov said? We have translated the interview.

Our country is against any nuclear war, and this is exactly what the Russian Minister said, and this is what guides our diplomacy in its work.

Could it be that the Western capitals read the interviews as presented by the Western media? This is the only thing that can justify their words. To avoid that, one should simply DON'T turn off alternative sources of information, and listen to what Russia has to say close to the original text, rather than as interpreted by your media under NATO guidelines.
